Buddy announces he's leaving OLTL

One Life to Live is about to have a little trouble following the Buddy system. Brandon Buddy has announced that he will exit his role as Cole later this year. That leaves one of the show's popular young pairings, Cole and Starr, very much in doubt. Buddy joined OLTL in 2006.

It appears that at least one popular pair on One Life to Live will be star-crossed no more. Brandon Buddy (Cole Thornhart) has decided that he will not renew his contract with the ABC soap when it expires later this year.

On his official Twitter page, Buddy broke the news to his fans that he'll soon be exiting Llanview.

"It's a bittersweet day," Buddy wrote. "Today I decided I'm not going to re-sign [my contract]. No more Llanview..."

Buddy joined the cast of One Life to Live in October 2006 as the son of one of the show's supercouples, Patrick Thornhart and Marty Saybrooke. Some fans had speculated that One Life to Live might attempt to rebuild the Thornhart family now that Emmy-nominated actor, Thorsten Kaye (ex-Patrick Thornhart; ex-Ian Thornhart, Port Charles) is no longer a member of the All My Children cast.

During his nearly four years with the show, Buddy has twice been pre-nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Younger Actor category.

An exact exit date is not yet known because it is believed that Buddy still has several months left on his current contract.

As the fans reacted to his announcement, Buddy followed up with a message of thanks.

"I have amazing followers! Thanks for all the warm wishes about me leaving the show," Buddy added. "[There is] still lots to come from Starr and Cole, though!"

By the time Buddy's tweet hit the 'net, a One Life to Live spokesperson was no longer available for comment.
