Former One Life to Live star Sean Ringgold (ex-Shaun Evans) has some exciting career news. The actor has a part in the upcoming thriller Uncut Gems, which stars Hollywood actor Adam Sandler.
The film is set in the diamond district of New York City and follows Sandler in the role of Howard Ratner, a jewelry store owner and dealer to the mega rich and famous. Howard also is a gambler and, unfortunately, loses big while gambling away money that doesn't belong to him. As he scrambles to find a way to pay his debts, his merchandise is taken from one of his top sellers and girlfriend, leaving him and his entire family in danger.
Ringgold plays a bodyguard in the film, which will look quite familiar to OLTL fans because the Llanview alter ego he played from 2006 to 2012 was a bodyguard, as well.
Additional stars of Uncut Gems include NBA player Kevin Garnett as himself, Idina Menzel, Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox, Eric Bogosian, and pop star The Weeknd as himself. The film made its debut at the Telluride Film Festival on August 30 and will be released in cinemas on December 13.
The film has already started generating Oscar buzz for Sandler.
