A$AP Rocky was by Rihanna's side at her father, Ronald Fenty's, funeral that was held on July 8 in Garfield Sobers Gymnasium, Barbados. Rihanna wore a cream-colored dress that had soft pleats in the front and a loose fit. Her longtime boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, wore cream-colored pants and a white shirt paired with a grayish-blue blazer.

The two were spotted holding their sons, Riot and RZA, in their arms while attending the funeral. Ronald Fenty's fiancée, Rosemary, also reportedly attended the funeral with the other family members.

The "Diamonds" singer is very private about her family and love life on social media. Although she hasn’t posted anything about her father’s passing, sources close to her say the news left her heartbroken and in pain.

What happened to Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty?

Ronald Fenty passed away in May after facing many serious health problems at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California. He was 71 at the time of passing. According to TMZ, he had been battling pancreatic cancer and aspiration pneumonia, along with acute respiratory failure, which led to his death.

The report obtained by TMZ also listed other medical issues, including acute tubular necrosis and acute renal failure. He was surrounded by his loved ones during his final moments, according to multiple reports.

Ronald Fenty was the father to six children, including Riri, Rajad Fenty, Jamie Fenty, Kandy Fenty, Samantha Fenty, and Rorrey Fenty.

How was the relationship between Rihanna and Ronald Fenty?

Riri and Ronald reportedly shared a rocky relationship over the years, which was marked by many public disagreements, including a lawsuit. In 2019, Rihanna filed a lawsuit against him, claiming she owns the Fenty name in the US and they're reportedly exploiting their last name, Fenty.

As per the singer, along with using her last name, her father also booked shows on her behalf without her permission to make money. The lawsuit, as reported by the BBC, stated:

"Defendants continue to this date to use their misrepresentations for their commercial advantage and to mislead the public. This fraudulent conduct harms not only plaintiffs but the public at large and requires judicial intervention."

However, the singer later decided to drop the lawsuit, choosing not to move forward with the legal action against her father.

Additionally, TMZ reported that Ronald was happy when he heard about Rihanna’s pregnancy. Many fans felt this was a sign that the two had moved past their differences and are on good terms.
