The former NFL star Antonio Brown is making headlines on social media after his recent controversial statements. On June 10, 2025, Antonio made a wild statement on X (formerly Twitter), where he alleged having had an affair with the wife of the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom.

This claim by Brown comes after the Governor posted a tweet on X in which he discussed suing US President Donald Trump. Since retiring in 2021, Brown has been involved in several controversies.

Antonio Brown's comments regarding Gavin Newsom's wife

Recently, Gavin Newsom posted a tweet on X about suing Donald Trump. The tweet read:

NEW: We are suing Donald Trump.
This is a manufactured crisis. He is creating fear and terror to take over a state militia and violate the U.S. constitution.
The illegal order he signed could allow him to send the military into ANY STATE HE WISHES.
Every governor -- red or blue -- should reject this outrageous overreach. There’s a lot of hyperbole out there. This isn’t that.
This is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism that threatens the foundation of our republic.
We cannot let it stand.

In a nutshell, Gavin accused Trump of misusing federal power by sending National Guard troops to California without his approval. He then officially announced that California was filing a federal lawsuit to block Trump's order.

Antonio Brown, the former football wide receiver, left a comment under Gavin's post, saying:

''I had s*x wit ur wife Gavin…''

Brown's claim grabbed headlines and went viral over social media. The claim was not followed by any evidence or confirmation.

He did not stop with that claim; he later posted a series of separate posts on his X handle, including a picture of a s*x toy, a pair of shoes, captioned with a vulgar statement. He also posted memes with the same context on his X handle.

Brown has also frequently been in the news for his legal issues, public outbursts, and contentious online posts. As of now, the Governor has not reacted to Brown's allegations; hence, for now, it remains a viral chatter, and netizens are looking at it as another instance of Brown's dramatic behavior.

Antonio's claims come at a time when there is significant tension in California following the ICE immigration raids and escalating protests, which have turned violent. There is also federal intervention, as the President has sent about 2,000 National Guard troops to California, and an additional 700 Marines, all without the approval of the Governor.
