Turning Point USA has announced that Charlie Kirk's wife, Erika Kirk, will take over as CEO of the organization. The conservative activist was shot and killed on September 10 while at a debate event in Orem, Utah. Kirk founded the nonprofit organization Turning Point USA in 2012 to promote political discussion among young people.

After the death of the right-wing political commentator, TPUSA's Board has elected Erika Kirk as the new CEO and the Chair of the Board. The organization shared the news through a post on X on September 18.

"The Turning Point Board has unanimously elected Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board... In prior discussions, Charlie expressed to multiple executives that this is what he wanted in the event of his death," the post read.

As soon as the announcement came, a flurry of reactions came on the post. Reacting to TPUSA's decision, a user wrote,

Another user called it the “most logical” choice and added that Erika should now lead the organization in a way that "reflects Charlie Kirk’s legacy."

"This is the most logical and obvious choice. Erika should run this organization in the way that reflects her husbands legacy and with her own unique voice and point of view."

An X user commended the decision and extended the support.

"Excellent. If anyone knew Charlie & what he would want for TP I have to believe it is Erika. She seems like a force of nature, which is what we need right now. Erika, know that we are with you & continue to pray for you."

Reacting to the announcement, an internet user called it the start of a movement.

"The movement has just started..Congratulations"

An online user approved of TPUSA's decision and added that Charlie Kirk's wife shares the same values as him and knows his best interests.

"As it should be. She shared the same values & perspectives. He loved & trusted her so much that he married her & had two beautiful children with her. No one else would have his best interests at heart as much as she would."
