LA District Attorney Nathan Hochman has refused to provide updates on the D4vd and Celeste Tesla cases. On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, a TMZ representative asked for an update on the case after a press conference. The rep asked Nathan what level the investigation had reached and if David was a suspect or any other suspects had been named.

Nathan answered:

“Its currently under investigation,” he added. “So we don't discuss suspect or the points in a continuing investigation. When and if that case is presented to the DA’s office and we make a decision on it, uh, I'll make sure you're one of the first to know.”

It's been nearly 6 weeks since Celeste Rivas’s remains were found in an impounded Tesla belonging to American singer D4vd, yet no suspect has been named.

“At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death. Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time,” the LAPD said early in the investigation.

More details on D4vd and Celeste Rivas’ Tesla case

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, TMZ reported that Malden Trifunovic, the house owner of D4vd’s rented Los Angeles home, situated north of Sunset Boulevard, disclosed that the LAPD obtained surveillance videos from the house. According to Malden, the footage gotten from the security cameras could show everyone who had entered or exited D4vd’s home. It can be a key lead in knowing if Celeste was with the singer in the weeks leading up to her death.

D4vd’s home was searched last month, and according to reports, several items were recovered from the building, including computers and electronics. Days after the house raid, Celeste Rivas was laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mortuary in Rowland Heights, California. Her funeral service was held inside a white tent at the venue to protect her family's privacy.

Shortly after Celeste's remains were found in the Tesla, a representative for D4vd shared that the singer was cooperating with the authorities. Since then, David has not made any personal comments on the case. The singer, however, canceled all his upcoming shows.
