June 5, 2025, was day 17 of Diddy's, also known as Sean Combs, federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial. On day 17, the court heard detailed testimony from an anonymous woman, referred to as Jane, and Bryana "Bana" Bongolan, a friend of Cassie Ventura and a fashion designer, was also cross-examined.

Other than the testimonies, Judge Arun Subramanian warned Combs about his courtroom conduct. Previously, the court heard testimonies from Combs's ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, rapper Kid Cudi, several of Combs's former associates, and other individuals, including Eddy Garcia, the former supervisor at the hotel in Los Angeles.

Key highlights of Diddy's day 17 of trial

This weekend marked the fourth week of Diddy's trial, and yesterday, June 5, was day 17. On Thursday, the judge said that he had noticed Combs "nodding vigorously" on two different occasions while looking at the jury. The judge called his behaviour unacceptable and warned that if it happens again, he will take strict measures, which could include not having Combs in the court during the trial, as per CNN.

The court then heard testimony from a woman referred to as Jane. She told the court that in 2021, which was the first year of the relationship, Diddy had introduced the concept of freak offs to her, saying that it was his fantasy. She explained to the court how the freak-offs became a regular thing in their relationship and that she couldn't stop it as "she feared losing" Combs and wanted to "make him happy."

She also recalled an incident, which was a trip to the Bahamas. According to USA Today, she testified that she and Combs took ecstasy several times over the nine-day trip, and Combs was the one who would give her the dose. She also mentioned that Combs used to pay her rent, which was around $10,000, because of which she felt obligated to participate in the freak-offs.

Jane also told the court how her relationship with Diddy affected her work, as she couldn't make time for it. She also mentioned that Combs periodically paid her an amount between $5,000 and $20,000. The defense team then cross-examined Bryana Bongolan, challenging the incident she narrated where Combs dangled her off a balcony at Cassie's Los Angeles apartment. The defense told the court that Bryana's testimony had inconsistencies and that Combs was not present in Los Angeles when the incident occurred.

The trial is expected to continue on Friday, and Jane will continue with her testimony. Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, and is facing five criminal charges, including transportation for prostitution, sex trafficking, and racketeering conspiracy. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
