During his last plea to Judge Arun Subramanian, Sean Diddy Combs promised he was a changed man and would appreciate a second chance. He added that he was working on his addictions and begged for mercy to be a father again.

Chatting with TMZ in an exclusive interview, Dr. Drew told the publication that he believed Diddy meant what he said about being a changed person; however, the rapper would still need extensive treatment to cure his alleged sexual and substance addictions.

“So clean and rehabilitated in prison is a relative description of how people can be in the short term when they’re in a contained environment. I'm sure he’s better. People are reporting that in the courtroom, he seemed like a different person, like it's something very…he’s been transformed in some way, which I'm sure just having these consequences come to bear and being off any substance.”
“Again, I don't know him. I don't know what he’s taking. All I know is what’s being reported in the court. And based on what’s in the court, what’s on the public record, we see something that would be sort of, could easily be conceptualised as sex addiction, right?”

The doctor added that treating his addictions would be a complex process and would take a long time to be treated entirely.

“First of all, that takes a long time to treat. This complex situation is not going to get better simply because he's on medically assisted treatment or something, like he's on sort of opioid replacement, which I suspect he was able to get in prison. He is going to need comprehensive long-term sustained treatment if indeed he has opiate addiction, like a year or two, for there to be a reasonable chance of doing well. And he would probably need the sex addiction treatment as well.”

More details on Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sentencing

Sean Diddy Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison on October 3, 2025. His sentence has led to discussions everywhere, with some wondering if his punishment was fair or deserved more.

On July 2, 2025, Diddy was acquitted of racketeering and sexual trafficking but was found guilty of transportation for prostitution. Prosecutors fought for the music mogul to receive over eleven years' imprisonment; however, his defense pleaded for fourteen months.

The rapper begged Judge Arun for leniency, hoping for a shorter sentence. During his last plea, he described his actions as disgusting and revealed he was trying his best to improve. He admitted that he couldn't change the past but could make the future bearable. He took full accountability for his actions and apologized to Jane and Cassie Ventura.

“I take full accountability and responsibility. The prosecution wants you to make an example of me. I want you to make an example of what a person can do if they get another chance, and if you give me another chance, I will not let you down,” he concluded his statement.
