On October 27, Emilie Kiser uploaded an Instagram video talking about the grief retreat she went to after losing her three-year-old son. Emilie lost Trigg in May following a drowning accident.In the recent video, Kiser was also seen wearing a necklace with a pendant that read TRIGG. The social media influencer shared that she attended a grief retreat soon after losing her son, saying it helped her begin her healing journey.Emilie started by talking about meditation, saying:"We were asked to do our best to come face-to-face with our grief. I never wanted you here. Like, I want you to go away. But through this experience, we were able to see that the grief doesn't wanna be there either."Calling it an "eye-opening experience," Kiser said it's important to see grief as a friend you learn to live with.Emilie Kiser also talked about the counselling sessions she received, which lasted for two hours. Quoting her counselor's words, she said:"You deserve to be happy again. You deserve to feel happiness because just because you're feeling those emotions doesn't mean you're not grieving."Emilie, in the next statement, encouraged others who have lost someone to feel happy and not guilty or sad for being happy. For her third lesson, Kiser said everyone grieves differently and advised not to listen to anyone who says there's a right way to feel."Literally one week could feel like you're at a place where you're like, 'I have accepted this grief journey, and I'm going to go through it, and I'm going to be friends with my grief,' and next week you're going to feel angry and mad and not accepting of your grief. And that I literally just the waves and emotions for the rest of your life with grief."Emilie Kiser shared that the video is to help those who can't access therapy while coping with grief.
