“Enemies to lovers": Lizzo describes relationship with comedian Myke Wright

Lizzo gushed about her relationship with comedian Myke Wright in a September 2025 cover story with Vulture magazine. The Houston-bred artist was first linked to Wright in October 2021 after the lovebirds were spotted having dinner.

Their relationship seems to be going strong as the About Damn Time hitmaker was full of praise for Wright in her latest interview. The 37-year-old singer joked about how her relationship with Wright transitioned from “friends to lovers” and “enemies to lovers,” a statement earlier made in a May 2025 interview with BET magazine:

"Friends to lovers” trope, or maybe enemies to lovers." "I’m really grateful to have someone who’s extremely supportive, who doesn’t ask for s--- from me, nor does he need s--- from me. "He pours into me. He takes care of me."

Lizzo and Myke Wright’s relationship explored as the singer praises the comedian in a new interview

The couple met in 2016 as co-hosts for the MTV music series Wonderland. They sparked romance rumors after they were spotted hanging out at Crustacean Beverly Hills in 2021. Lizzo appeared on Radio Andy in April 2022 and seemingly confirmed that she was in a relationship.

Two months later, Lizzo and Wright debuted on the red carpet for her Amazon Prime reality series, Watch Out for the Big Grrls. The Truth Hurts crooner indicated that her relationship with the comedian was serious in a November 2022 Vanity Fair interview. She described him as “everything.”:

"I’ve known him for over six years. He’s everything. We’re just in love. And that’s it.”

She also called him the love of her life:

“People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I am not a polyamorous person; I’m not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He’s the love of my life. We are life mates."

She wasn’t opposed to the idea of getting married to Wright:

"Do I want to get married? If I wanted to start a business with him, I’d get married because that’s when your finances come together. I like weddings. I would like to have a wedding over a marriage. I’m not thinking about sex when I think about monogamy and rules. I’m thinking about the autonomy and independence of him and me."

In March 2025, the couple walked the red carpet at Vanity Fair’s Oscar afterparty together.
