The nationwide No Kings protests held on October 18-19, 2025, saw major participation from citizens across the United States.
The demonstrations held in more than 2600 cities were aimed at protesting against the increase of executive authority and spreading democratic principles. Demonstrators were protesting against the administration of President Donald Trump and its policies, especially in the areas of enforcement of immigration laws, government overreach, and civil rights.
A lot of Hollywood and music celebrities participated in the No Kings movement on the Internet and in real life. They utilized their platforms to invite civic action as well as peaceful participation.
Here is a list of celebrities who attended the No Kings protests this weekend.
Celebrities supporting the No Kings protests
1) Mark Ruffalo

Mark Ruffalo was present at No Kings protests and was very active on social media, posting about the protests. He referred to the protests as a "historic moment" in the democracy and encouraged Americans to participate. Ruffalo was also spotted interacting with other protestors.
The actor posted a video message inviting people to join the protests. He captioned the post,
"WE the People - WE have the power and together WE will win! Check out this inspiring video and share it with your family, friends and neighbors to join one of the over 2,500 No Kings protests across our country this Saturday, October 18th."

2) Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis also participated in the Los Angeles protests and posted pictures of the protests. She captioned the photos:
"SIGNS 'O THE TIMES! Democracy in ACTION! #nokings @peoplefor_"

3) Spike Lee

Director Spike Lee was present at a protest rally in New York City. He also posted pictures of the protest on social media and encouraged his followers to rise in defense of democracy. He shared a photo of a protester on Instagram. He captioned the photo,
"GET UP STAND UP. YA-DIG❓SH😇-NUFF"
4) Glenn Close

Glenn Close posted a photo of herself on Instagram holding a signboard that read, "No Oligarchs No Dictators No Despots No Autocrats. No kings!!” Quoting Abraham Lincoln, she captioned the post,
"...that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from this earth."
5) Jimmy Kimmel

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel posted an infographic mentioning made-up nicknames. He captioned the post,
"When you’re making your #NoKings posters, remember… Donald Trump LOVES a good nickname."
6) Robert De Niro

On October 9, a political activist group, Indivisible, posted a TikTok video featuring Robert De Niro. In the video, De Niro spoke in support of the protests, saying,
"The original No Kings protest was 250 years ago. Americans decided they didn’t want to live under the rule of King George III. They declared their independence and fought a bloody war for democracy. We’ve had two and a half centuries of democracy since then. Often challenging, sometimes messy, always essential."
"Now we have a would-be king who wants to take it away: King Donald the First. Fuck that. We’re rising up again, this time, nonviolently raising our voices to declare: No Kings."
7) Jean Smart

Jean Smart had also urged followers to show up at local demonstrations via social media several days ago. In a video of herself posted on her Instagram account, the Hacks actor addresses fans and urges them to join the "peaceful protest," adding,
"The current resident of the White House seems to think he has everybody fooled, but he has made it abundantly clear that he admires dictators and wishes to be one. And ironically, this country was founded on our rebellion against having a king...The most patriotic thing that you can do is say, ‘No kings.’ A king does not belong in the United States of America."
8) John Cusack

John Cusack participated in a No Kings protest among other protestors in Chicago and talked to News 4 San Antonio. He said,
"It’s all upsetting. Seeing a sort of fascist authoritarian…cosplay that the right wing has been fooling around with for so long, seeing it devolve into the real thing is predictable, but deeply saddening."
Other celebrities who supported the No Kings protests

Several other celebrities participated in the No Kings protests. Paul Schrader posted a photo of the Times Square protests and captioned it,
"I was there."
Cecily Strong, Ben Stiller, Paul Mescal, Margaret Cho, Murray Bartlett, Elvira, Kerry Washington, Kathy Griffin, Billy Eichner, and Lee Daniels also made social media posts encouraging their followers to attend the protests. Mescal also posted photos of himself attending the No Kings protests.
The protests, known as No Kings, had millions of people taking part in the country. The marches were held in big cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C., and in smaller towns in the country. According to organizers, the movement advocates for better Immigration laws, voting rights, and free expression.
