On July 12, President Donald Trump posted a statement on Truth Social revealing his plans to revoke Rosie O'Donnell’s U.S. citizenship. The original statement read:
"Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"
After the statement, the American talk show host received support from many, including Ellen DeGeneres, who uploaded an Instagram post including two photos with the caption:
"Good for you @rosie"
The first photo in Ellen’s post showed Donald Trump's Truth Social statement about revoking Rosie's U.S. citizenship. The second photo was Rosie's captioned response to the same, which read:
"you call me a threat to humanity – but I’m everything you fear: a loud woman a queer woman a mother who tells the truth an american who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze you build walls"
In the original post uploaded by Rosie, she also shared a photo of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. She then directly challenged Trump with another statement:
"you want to revoke my citizenship? go ahead and try, king joffrey with a tangerine spray tan. i’m not yours to silence i never was"
Rosie O'Donnell has been receiving strong support from her fans since Donald Trump's statement against her. Many small organizations like Occupy Democrats and My Voice, My Choice have also come forward in her support.
Rosie O'Donnell calls out Donald Trump on social media
After uploading the reply statement to Trump featuring a photo of him with Jeffrey Epstein, Rosie uploaded another Instagram post on July 12 in response to his statement that read:
"the president of the usa has always hated the fact that i see him for who he is - a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself - this is why i moved to ireland - he is a dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity"
Her statement continued:
"i stand in direct opposition all he represents- so do millions of others - u gonna deport all who stand against ur evil tendencies - ur a bad joke who cant form a coherent sentence #nevertrump"
Last month, Elon Musk also called out Donald Trump in a now-deleted tweet on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
"Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
The statement sparked controversy online, especially since the Epstein files are believed to contain the names of many high-profile individuals. Musk naming Trump drew even more attention to the matter.
The recent statement by Donald Trump about taking away Rosie O'Donnell’s citizenship has caught a lot of attention online.
According to People, even though Trump made a bold statement, he can’t legally take away Rosie’s citizenship, as she was reportedly born in Commack, New York, and the 14th Amendment protects everyone born in the United States.
