Elon Musk frequently promotes xAI's chatbot Grok in his posts. In a recent post, Musk claimed that Grok saved a man's life. On December 6, Musk reacted to a post describing that a Norwegian man claimed that Grok saved his life. In the post, the user stated that the 49-year-old was misdiagnosed with acid reflux and sent back home.

However, when the man shared the symptoms with the AI chatbot, it suggested a CT scan and suspected "perforated ulcer or atypical appendicitis." When the man went for a diagnosis, his appendix was found to be inflamed and was reportedly on the verge of rupture. The man underwent surgery.

Elon Musk reacted to the post, writing, "cool." The news went viral on X. Later in the day, the SpaceX founder found it worth sharing more. He pinned a post, writing,

"Grok saves man’s life in Norway!"

The news surfaced from a Reddit discussion on Grok. On December 4, a user, u/Tykjen, shared his experience of how xAI's chatbot saved his life.

"I’m alive and healed because an AI recognized the pattern when the first exam missed it, and because I had the exact words to make them take me seriously the second time. If you’re reading this while curled up in pain, googling symptoms at 3 a.m., and someone already sent you home once, please don’t wait," the user wrote in his Reddit discussion.

The man also shared a video on social media after his story went massively viral. In the video, the Norwegian man could be seen thanking people for their overwhelming support. He noted that Grok recommended him not to share his story.

"But I had to share the story, because if I can help anyone else, I have to," he added.

Elon Musk recently unveiled Grokipedia as an alternative to Wikipedia

The xAI founder has long been a vocal critic of Wikipedia, accusing it of bias. The billionaire announced in September that he would be releasing an alternative to the community-edited platform. On October 27, Elon Musk unveiled the initial version of the Grok-based encyclopedia. In a series of posts, he discussed Grokipedia. He noted that the platform "is fully open source" and has no cost. In one of his tweets, he wrote,

"The goal of Grok and Grokipedia.com is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. We will never be perfect, but we shall nonetheless strive towards that goal."

Later on November 13, Musk spoke about his plan to rename Grokipedia. The xAI founder wrote in a post that when the Grok-based encyclopedia becomes "good enough," its name will be changed to "Encyclopedia Galactica."

"When Grokipedia is good enough (long way to go), we will change the name to Encyclopedia Galactica. It will be an open source distillation of all knowledge, including audio, images and video. Join to help build the sci-fi version of the Library of Alexandria!" Elon Musk posted.

From Grok's achievements to Tesla Optimus humanoid's feats, Elon Musk often talks about new breakthroughs of his different ventures.
