Amid the ongoing legal battle between Halle Bailey and DDG for the custody of their son Halo, the actress has reportedly filed for sole custody of their son. The move comes after she received a temporary restraining order against DDG by the court, which prohibits the rapper from coming within the proximity of Halle and their son Halo till the next hearing in the court.

The latest move comes as she attempts to take charge of the matters concerning her child, Halo. In the lawsuit filed by Halle Bailey, she has asked the court to intervene and grant her full custody of Halo after she narrated instances of alleged reckless parenting displayed by DDG previously. As per the lawsuit, she has requested some specific demands from the court.

Halle Bailey has, however, proposed a much smaller level of DDG's presence in their son’s life in the form of monitored interactions, which would be time-limited to six hours a week. Even as she launches an attempt to take charge of the situation, she has previously revealed her rationale behind the lawsuit:

"I have realized that there is no placating Darryl (DDG). I cannot allow this abuse any longer. I cannot keep living like this. I never know when he is going to demand our son to be in his mother’s care and whether I will be subjected to his threats and abuse. I have attempted to work with Darryl to set up a schedule for Halo, but he refuses to talk to me and just goes live to blast me to his fans. I also continue to try to work with his Mother to try to arrange time for Darryl to be with Halo."

She then went on to list a couple of incidents that caused her to become worrisome:

"I was filming in New Jersey last month and arranged for his Mother to come and take Halo to visit with his father. In coordinating the trip, I learned that Darryl had purchased a one-way ticket for his Mother to come to New Jersey and to take Halo to him. He demanded I pay the cost of the return ticket and would not book it. I had a lawyer get involved in order to protect our son and draft an agreement to ensure that our son would be returned to me. I was glad that I could facilitate the visit, but it created tremendous stress for me and disrupted my work while I was dealing with Darryl's threats."

Halle Bailey and DDG welcomed Halo into the world in 2023, but the couple announced their separation last year as relations between the two regressed. Halle Bailey has now come forward to shed light on the alleged violent behaviour depicted by DDG and caused her to file a lawsuit, which was reportedly brought about by a fear for her own safety, and frustrations with DDG's parenting.

Even as the battle for Halo's custody rages on, DDG's camp has chosen not to comment on the allegations brought against the rapper. His mother has put up a cryptic post recently, but things have been rather quiet from the other end. Amid the controversies surrounding the rapper, DDG seemed to be in a jolly mood when he posted this on X:

"I'm chillin btw.. I have no worries. Streaming later on, no days off!"

It remains to be seen what becomes of the requests put in by Halle Bailey and whether she'll be successful in getting full custody of her son. Even as DDG serves his restraining order, the next court hearing is set for June 4, 2025.
