Michele Evans recently spoke about an alleged assault she suffered from Shannon in an interview with the U.S Sun. In the interview, she said that they met in 2002 while she worked as a local TV sports reporter. They dated until 2010.

Describing the period when they began dating, she said:

"We met in the press room at the Broncos, in April of 2002, but we didn't start dating until we met at the club Blue 67 in Denver. He started pursuing me pretty heavily," she said of their second meeting in the fall of that year.

She continued:

"I resisted for a while because I was a reporter and I didn't want to mix the two, but he's very charming."

Evans revealed that they dated for almost ten years and had an open relationship. Michele said that at the time, she was also dating another man who later became her husband. Shannon, however, wanted her to leave him. She said that Shannon wasn't faithful himself, as he had moved in with other women without telling Michele about it. She said:

"We had an argument about the fact that he had removed one girl from his [Atlanta] house and put another girl in his house and he didn't tell me. He had asked me to break up with my husband at the time. I was dating Shannon and my husband at the same time."

She continued:

"It's like wait a minute, you want me to be with just you, but you want to move somebody into your house and not even tell me."

Evans alleged that the argument turned violent, and said that Shannon was controlling and manhandled her before he r*ped her. She said:

"I told him no, because you gave it to somebody else. I didn’t only tell him no, I told him why, and he wouldn’t take no for an answer, so he overpowered me."

Michele also alleged that Shannon had threatened her to keep quiet, and hence she didn't report the incident to the police, as she claimed in her 2023 lawsuit.

Shannon's legal team had responded to the lawsuit. As per the New York Post, they said that Michele couldn't find a lawyer to represent her, and they said that Shannon hadn't seen her in years, and the claims she made were not true.
