Charlotte Crosby met Jake Ankers on New Year's Eve ten years ago in 2015. According to BBC Three Show's Frisk Radio, Jake initiated the conversation by asking for a photo with Crosby. Charlotte's friend, Lauren, also had a hand at playing cupid when she told her about Anker's Instagram and urged her to follow him. Jake thought it was actually Charlotte's agent who messaged him from her account.

At the time of their meeting, Charlotte Crosby was 25 years old. They were already talking about the future, expressing that they knew what they wanted. Jake expressed:

"Getting together so quickly, everything moves so fast, and you sort of know what you want out of life when you get to like 30."

And Charlotte chimed in:

"We are old enough, and experienced - I can speak on my behalf - with ex-relationships. I mean, I had a new boyfriend every single year practically, so I know exactly what I want from a relationship."

However, the two did not get together till 2021, and later made it public in 2022. In the same year, Charlotte announced that they were expecting their first child together. Before the end of the year, they welcomed their baby girl, Alba-Jean, in October. Earlier this year, they also welcomed their second child, Pixi Cecilia, in February.

Why did Charlotte Crosby and Jake Ankers cancel their 2026 wedding?

Almost nine months after their second daughter was born, Jake Ankers got on one knee to propose to his girlfriend and baby mama in November. Charlotte Crosby took to Instagram to share the wonderful news.

She captioned the post:

"Happiest woman in the world 🌎 ❤️ Yes yes yes and yes @jake_ankers you are my best friend you are my life ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ i CANT BELIEVE IM ENGAGED AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh. Best night ever."

However, in a recent exclusive with The Sun UK, Charlotte Crosby revealed that their 2026 wedding has been cancelled. The reason is due to a confession she made on reality TV, which deeply hurt her fiancé.

Both Charlotte and Jake are on a new reality television series called Geordie Stories: Charlotte Mam of Two (previously, Charlotte’s New Baby). She told The Sun UK that she regrets not having a conversation with her man about how much of their relationship would be aired to the public.

In her words:

"I didn’t ask Jake how he would feel if we talked about our rocky patch in this series and he found it really hard... I did feel a little bit bad for that, because I didn’t even think about how he would feel about it."

She continued to elaborate:

"I'm just so used to just talking about it all, and not and not thinking about it... I didn't take his feelings into consideration, and when he watched episode one, he was a little bit like: 'Oh I didn’t realise that you were saying that, and I didn't realise that this side of our relationship was gonna be on the show.' He found it really hard."

Charlotte Crosby explained how what was normal for her might not be normal for him, and that they did not have that specific conversation beforehand:

"I think I led him up the garden path a little bit – not intentionally, just because I find it so normal. It's just second nature to me. I didn't think about it once, so no, I didn't have the discussion... Now going forward, I would always know to have that conversation. Thankfully, it's only episode one that we had a bit of a rocky patch in."

As for her wedding, she added:

"The wedding can't happen anytime soon because my wedding wish list is too expensive – it's gonna have to hold on. I think it could be at the end of 2027... I'm not a bridezilla, I just want to make some good memories. I want Olivia Dean singing the first dance song, Man I Need... I looked it up. It's about £90k to £100k... I actually put an inquiry in and I DM’d her but she hasn’t replied."

Charlotte Crosby concluded by saying:

"It's my wedding! We've got one life on this Earth, I'm not gonna go small! I'm going to have to have about three dress changes."

Charlotte Crosby and Jake Ankers' relationship has grown stronger over the years. They now share two children together. However, their 2026 wedding was cancelled because of certain things the reality star said on TV, which hurt his feelings. They still plan to marry someday. Charlotte is hinting at a 2027 wedding.
