"I’m truly grateful": Karen Huger issues first official statement after completing DUI sentence

Karen Huger, who was released from prison, reportedly in September, uploaded an Instagram post after nearly a year. The post marks Huger's first Instagram post after her release following a DUI sentence.

In the post, Karen Huger was seen posing in a Harbison Studio's white peplum-styled top with a slit skirt with black and white flowers all over. The actress attended BravoCon, which took place in Caesars Forum, Las Vegas. The caption of the post read:

"Thank you @nbcuniversal and @bravotv for the incredibly warm and welcoming energy. My heart is full. A heartfelt thank you to my team,and to my new favorite person, @charlienchargie & @harbison.studio who thoughtfully crafted the first of my three looks for this return."

She added:

"He understood my vision, honored my light, and helped shape a moment that feels both fresh and deeply aligned. I’m truly grateful to have his artistry and his brand part of my new chapter."

When was Karen Huger released from prison?

Karen's troubles began with a serious car accident and DUI incident in March last year that took place near Bethesda, Maryland. The case eventually moved through the court system, and by February this year, the judge handling it sentenced her to a year in jail.

She was expected to complete her sentence next year. However, from the recent reports, it was confirmed that The Real Housewives of Potomac star was released six months earlier in September.

After last year's crash, Huger reportedly gave a detailed statement to TMZ, saying:

"Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes during this very frightening experience. I am still in shock from last night’s incident but grateful to be alive today. With the passing of my beloved mother, grief comes and goes in waves, and with Mother’s Day approaching it has felt more like a tsunami"

She added:

"Last night I met a girlfriend for dinner, we talked and brought up some very emotionally sensitive topics. I was crying on my way home and saw a car heading right for me. I swerved to avoid the head-on collision, hit the divider and then a tree. I’m hurt, bruised up a bit, but so grateful I am alive! I did receive citations, one of which was unrelated to the incident which is understandable, but what was most surprising is that the car that almost hit me just drove away!"

Towards the end of the statement, Karen Huger mentioned that putting on a seatbelt saved her life.

Karen Huger was recently seen in an episode of Beyond The Gates, released this year, according to IMDb.
