"I’ve kept everything in the home still the same after these several months": Erika Kirk remembers Charlie Kirk in a Christmas post

On December 30, Erika Kirk uploaded an Instagram post, remembering her late husband, Charlie Kirk, while wishing him a merry Christmas. The post included photos and videos of their daughter and son enjoying Christmas. In one of the photos, Charlie's shoes were seen next to their kid's shoes.

Remembering Charlie Kirk, she wrote in the caption:

"…life is a little different. it’s this rhythm of maintaining our traditions mixed in with creating new ones to harmonize into a normalcy for the babies. It’s new, but strange. Familiar, but not. I’ve kept everything in the home still the same after these several months, your socks still on the floor, your shoes by the door, your vitamins everywhere on the counter. That’s how it’ll stay."

Erika continued:

"I don’t say that because I need one more thing for this world to judge me on, quite frankly they’re already at capacity and none of it shakes me. Their words, accusations, assumptions, and slander don’t land, they don’t burn. Never will. I owe the world nothing."

Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10 at the University of Utah. He was the cofounder of Turning Point USA and was married to Erika Kirk at the time of his death.

Erika Kirk wishes Charlie Kirk a Merry Christmas

Erika shared that she noticed the small, quiet gestures from her husband, which felt like small love notes. She added that by sharing this, she hopes it might encourage other wives to love their husbands to the fullest, even when marriage feels challenging.

She continued:

"So yes. This Christmas we tucked away. And while the world, again, kept being the world, I loved settling into a space of continued healing where silence is golden and is a statement in itself. The outpouring from our loved ones, has been a sacred and holy balm to our hearts."

Kirk added that since Charlie's death, her world feels very different and sometimes difficult, but she is thankful to God. She ended the caption by wishing Charlie a Merry Christmas and thanking him for the love notes he continues to send from heaven.

Erika's fans showed their support in the comments, thanking her for being honest and open about her feelings and for keeping Charlie's memory alive.

After the death of her husband, Erika Kirk took on a bigger role at Turning Point USA and is now serving as the organization's chairwoman and CEO.
