The ex-host of the political show, The Five, on Fox News, Jeanine Pirro, was officially announced as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia by the Senate on August 2, 2025, as per Associated Press. The politician, author, and former judge was appointed after decision came after a 50–45 vote, mostly along party lines.

This confirmed her appointment to the role after she had been serving in an acting capacity since May 2025, when President Donald Trump first nominated her, as reported by Fox KTVU.

Pirro is currently not married; however, she was previously married to Albert J. Pirro Jr. from 1975 until their divorce was finalized in 2013.

Personal life of Jeanine Pirro explored

Jeanine took it to her social media to share her excitement about being elected as the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote:

''I am blessed to have received a Senate confirmation vote this evening of 50 to 45 to be the United States attorney for the District of Columbia the largest United States Attorney’s Office in the country. Thank you to those senators who supported my confirmation and DC- get ready for a real crime fighter.''

Jeanine was married to Albert, with whom she shared nearly forty years of marriage. They met at Albany Law School and got married in 1975, shortly after Pirro's graduation. Albert was a lawyer-turned-lobbyist, while Jeanine worked in the legal and political circles in Westchester County.

Their marriage went through a series of tensions and scandals. In the early 1980s, Albert fathered a child outside their marriage, which was confirmed by DNA in the late 1990s. As per Hollywood Life, Albert was convicted in 2000 on 34 counts of tax evasion and conspiracy, hiding over $1 million in personal expenses, and for that he was sentenced to 29 months but served about 17 months.

Jeanine and Albert then separated in 2007 and finally divorced in 2013. They share two children. In 2021, President Donald Trump granted Albert a full pardon just before leaving office.

Despite the public scandals and the legal battles, Pirro maintained her public career. Other than being a TV host and having a career in politics and law, Pirro has also authored some books, including her latest 2020 book, Don't Lie to Me: and Stop Trying to Steal Our Freedom.
