High-profile lawyer Teny Geragos, connected with Sean Diddy Combs’ case, has stirred controversy following his statements during the 2 Angry Men podcast, which he co-hosts alongside TMZ’s Harvey Levin. The celebrity lawyer associated with the Menendez brothers appeared on a May 2, 2025, episode of the podcast where he discussed Sean Diddy Combs' case.

At the 7:17 time mark in the podcast video uploaded to YouTube, Geragos spoke about the notorious CCTV footage showing the embattled music mogul physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a hotel hallway.

He added:

“You give the prosecution props. It’s a prosecution by proxy, so to speak. And what do I mean by that? They’ve taken that video (the prosecution), they’ve recast it.”

Geragos explained that the prosecution planned to use the video to convince the jury that Diddy had violent tendencies and was capable of committing the crimes he’s being accused of. He described the move as character assassination.

The lawyer added that the viral video posted by CNN was edited misleadingly, and the original footage will be shown during the trial. Geragos, who has described Combs as a friend, stated that the latter had a violent temper, but he wasn’t on trial for that:

"I've known Sean for a long time. He has a violent temper, especially when you combine it with the drug use," Geragos said on the podcast. "But that isn't what he's charged with."

He added:

"Have you ever had a situation where your significant other took your cellphone?" Geragos said. "And does that take you from 0 to 60 really quickly?"

Presiding judge over Sean Diddy Combs trial cautions Mark Geragos over remarks about the case

In the 13:32 timestamp of the 2 Angry Men podcast video, which aired on May 2, 2025, Mark Geragos described the prosecution team in Diddy’s case as a “six-pack of white women.”

This prompted the prosecution to send an open letter to the sitting judge, Arun Subramanian, stating that Geragos’ apparent role as an advisor to the defendant and the defense team made his podcast comments a contravention of the rule guiding lawyers’ statements during an ongoing trial.

Mr. Geragos, although not directly involved in the case, has been attending the jury selection process. His daughter, Teny Geragos, leads the defense team alongside Marc Agnifilo.

According to CNN, Judge Arun Subramanian addressed the prosecution’s open letter in a private discussion in his robing room and challenged Geragos for the "six-pack of white women" statement.

The latter seemingly defended his remarks, saying:

“I think when you’ve got a Black man who’s being prosecuted and the client feels like he’s being targeted, it’s a – it’s an observation.”

The judge replied:

“I think referring to the prosecution in this case as a six-pack of white women is outrageous. All right. And I understand what you’re saying about the cases and everything else, but I think this is outrageous, and this would not be tolerated in any court from any lawyer anywhere across the nation. And I’m going to be watching and I’m going to be listening. All right?”
