Just days after dropping the lawsuit against Jay-Z, Rymir Satterthwaite has announced his intentions to keep fighting in his bid to prove himself as the biological son of rapper Jay-Z. In a recent Instagram Live stream, Rymir made it clear that dropping the lawsuit doesn’t mean he’s throwing in the towel by saying:

"I have not stopped my fight, I did withdraw my case, but it's for a reason. I have not gotten a settlement. It is not over."

By declaring his motivations on social media, Rymir Satterthwaite also quashed the rumors of a settlement that had been circulating online in recent days. Although he failed to comment on the motivation behind his move to withdraw the case, his recent statements have shown that this is not the end of the conflict.

Rymir Satterthwaite - a brief history

Rymir Satterthwaite was born in 1993 and has been claiming since the early 2010s that he is the biological son of Jay-Z. His claims rest on his mother Wanda’s assertion that she had a romantic relationship with Jay-Z in the early 90s. According to reports, Rymir Satterthwaite's mother was only 16 years old when she allegedly had a relationship with Jay-Z.

Before she died in 2016, Rymir's mother recorded a video reaffirming her belief in her son’s claims. Jay-Z himself has remained quiet on the matter, although his lawyers have repeatedly denied the allegations. A paternity test has never been court-ordered despite multiple legal filings, which remains the bone of contention in Rymir's case.

Rymir shared details about the case in an interview with the Daily Mail earlier this year, where he was quoted as saying:

"If he is (Jay-Z) not, why can’t he prove me wrong? Go to the court room and do what everyone else has to do. I can take a no. I can take being embarrassed, I been through a lot. I could take me being embarrassed, I just can’t take him not saying nothing. It is not fair. I am coming to the courts for the truth."

He then went on to add:

"I would never hate Jay-Z, I respect him for everything he did. I have been going through a whole lot for so many years because of this case. Me and my mom and my god mom we have seen the worst in people. Slandering my name saying I want Jay-Z money. I am going to fight until I am not here no more. If it takes another 10 years. Another 50. I may take this to the grave with me. But everyone can say I fought this until the end… I am not trying to do this to make anyone seem like a bad person or a bad father."

While many had thought that the decade-long saga would finally end with the dropping of the lawsuit, Rymir Satterthwaite's recent statements have put a wrench into the works. Whether this case will ever reach a definitive conclusion remains to be seen.
