Kai Cenat appeared visibly uncomfortable as SZA introduced him to Kendrick Lamar at the just-concluded BET Awards 2025. The moment, captured in a 26-second clip, seemed awkward for the Brooklyn-born streamer, who is known to be close friends with Drake, whose infamous feud with the hip-hop icon Kendrick Lamar became one of the highlights of pop culture in 2024.

In the video, the five-time Grammy award-winning singer SZA and her fellow Grand National Tour collaborator, Lamar, are seen hugging Cenat and popular American comedian Druski.

After exchanging pleasantries, the Snooze hitmaker asked the 23-year-old YouTuber if he had met with K.Dot before their recent encounter. Sza asked:

"Do y'all know each other?"

Replying to Sza, Kai Cenat said:

"I just met him backstage."

In the clip, Sza rocks a red dress and is accessorized with diamond jewelry. Druski and Cenat embraced formal looks in black tuxedos.

Kendrick Lamar also opted for a formal style with his black two-piece suit and completed the ensemble with a white scarf.

Kai Cenat and Drake's friendship is explored as the streamer looks uncomfortable hanging out with Kendrick Lamar at the BET Awards 2025

Kai Cenat has been friends with Canadian rapper Drake since 2023. Their bond became widely known when Drake called intonone of Cenat's livestreams during the release of his 2023 album For All The Dogs. During the stream, Drizzy thanked his fans, including the Twitch streamer, for their display of love for his album, saying:

"I appreciate the love; I see all the Ws dropping. That's a lot of love. I always watch the listening sessions"

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, Drake reportedly sent an IG message to Cenat during an ongoing livestream, so he could broadcast the highly anticipated diss track Family Matters, a follow-up release during rap feud between the Ontario-born rapper and K.Dot.

Reacting to Drake's Instagram message, Kai Cenat gushed:

"Drake just texted me! Hold on! Hold on! Wait! Drizzy just texted me. I got a report. I got a report. Drake has just texted me...Drake has just said 'Stay on stream.' I repeat, Drake has officially said, 'Stay on stream.'"

Drake's Family Matters dropped on Friday, May 4, 2024, and was accompanied by a music video that has garnered over forty-six million views on YouTube.

The Duo's friendship seemed to be on the rocks when Cenat's name appeared in Drake's UMG suit earlier this year.

In an interview with Billboard, the 23-year-old YouTuber cleared the air regarding rumors that he had fallen out with Drake and stated that Lamar had won the rap feud:

"I’m cool with Drake."

He continued:

"So people would expect me to be on Drake’s side. Kendrick won that battle. It was good. I loved every second of it. I was just appreciating the moment. Like, bro, we got bangers right now that’s dropping back to back, and everybody’s talking about them. It was definitely fire.”

Drake recently showed support for Kai Cenat by delivering a speech at the latter's Streamer University in May 2025.
