A man has been arrested in connection with the June 2025 burglary of rapper Macklemore’s home in Capitol Hill and the theft of valuables, including two championship rings for the Seattle Sounders’ MLS Cup and the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl title.
The Seattle Police Department released an official statement on August 28, 2025, announcing that the 29-year-old suspect had been taken into custody and revealing details about how the investigation went.
The King County Valley SWAT team searched the suspect’s home in Renton, which led them to serve an additional search warrant on August 27, 2025, on a jewelry store in South Seattle for further investigation.
There, the police found several items stolen from rapper Macklemore’s home alongside other items from other burgled homes in the area. The suspect has also reportedly been charged with other robbery incidents in Seattle.
The SPD stated that detectives will refer the criminal charges to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
“It's a pretty terrifying set of circumstances,” Casey McNerthney from the Prosecutor’s Office comments on the robbery incident at rapper Macklemore’s home
Casey McNerthney, director of communications at the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, described the incident as “pretty terrifying”:
“It’s a pretty terrifying set of circumstances. Anytime that you have a home burglary, it’s a pretty violating feeling. And what he was allegedly doing was going after pro athletes when they were out of town.”
According to police reports, on June 7, 2025, officers received reports of a burglary at the rapper Macklemore’s East Precinct home. A maid at the residence, a 22-year-old woman, was attacked with bear spray by two men who had gained access into the house through an unlocked door.
The maid, the only person in the house, managed to escape into a neighbor’s home and dialed 911. She was the only one injured during the robbery. The burglars ransacked the house and made away with personal items worth thousands of dollars, including a Seattle Sounders ring belonging to the owner.
They had escaped before the police arrived at the scene.
The Seattle police have published photos of recovered jewelry items on their website. They are calling on members of the public who recognize their stolen items to contact their Robbery Unit at 206-684-5535.
