Conservative political commentator Matt Walsh has claimed that Charlie Kirk's murder suspect had a "transgender boyfriend."
On Friday morning, authorities confirmed that they had arrested the prime suspect of Charlie Kirk's assassination. The suspect was identified as a 22-year-old man named Tyler Robinson.
Matt Walsh, who had earlier made some controversial comments about the LGBTQ community, has now linked Kirk's murder with "LGBT extremism." In his September 13 post on X, the right-wing columnist claimed that Robinson had a "transgender boyfriend."
"I’ve independently confirmed that Charlie Kirk’s assassin did in fact have a transgender boyfriend. This is LGBT extremism. A lot more will be revealed soon. The “far right” narrative is absolute bullshit. Not even close to true. Don’t fall for it," Walsh wrote.
The tweet came after Fox News correspondent Brooke Singman made this claim in an X post. Citing unnamed sources, Singman claimed that Tyler Robinson was living with his transgender partner.
"EXCLUSIVE: Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson lived with his transgender partner, sources tell me... The individual, who is a male transitioning to a female, is fully cooperating with the FBI... Sources tell me the FBI had texts and other communications between Robinson and the individual that helped FBI authorities solidify that Robinson was indeed the shooter," Singman wrote.
Details about Charlie Kirk's murder suspect Tyler Robinson's roommate
A September 13 report by the New York Post stated that Charlie Kirk's shooting suspect was living with a transgender partner, who was reportedly in the "process of transitioning from male to female."
The report said that although official details have yet to come, the roommate has been cooperating with the FBI. Citing public records, the media outlet shared that the murder suspect of the conservative activist was sharing a residence with a person named Lance Twiggs. The outlet claimed that Twigg's relative had confirmed this.
"Yes, they were roommates," Twiggs' relative told the New York Post.
The relative, however, did not confirm Tyler Robinson and Lance Twiggs' alleged relationship.
A Daily Mail report said the Twiggs helped the authorities in the arrest of Kirk's murder suspect. Lance Twiggs reportedly provided incriminating messages to police. The message was about hiding a gun that authorities later linked to the killing of the right-wing activist.
The outlet also talked to Twiggs' grandfather, who claimed that he never met Tyler Robinson. He was also unable to confirm Twiggs' gender identity.
"I don’t want to comment on that. I'm not sure what his situation is exactly right now," Lance Twiggs' grandfather told Daily Mail.
However, it is important to note that the official statement on the motive behind the killing and other details about the murder suspect have yet to come.
