Megan Thee Stallion and Airbnb are offering the Otaku Hottie Quest, a free, one-day anime-themed event in Los Angeles on June 12, 2025. Twelve fans will face five simple challenges: cosplay styling, a floor-is-lava course, a video-game showdown, ramen making, and a final battle to earn keepsake charms from Megan herself.

Applications opened on May 13 and will close on May 20. Winners will be selected through a combination of lottery and creativity, specifically for sharing unique reasons why they identify as “Otaku Hotties.” The experience is part of Airbnb’s Summer 2025 Originals lineup, which showcases exclusive events hosted by celebrities.

Megan Thee Stallion and Airbnb worked together to create a simple anime experience

Megan Thee Stallion said, “Bringing the Otaku Hottie Quest to life with Airbnb has been such an amazing process. Anime has always been a passion of mine, so I’m really excited for the Hotties to get a little taste of my world”.

Airbnb describes the Quest as a way for fans to step into Megan’s own “Otakuverse” and try out fun activities she enjoys. The idea grew from her song “Otaku Hottie” and her public love of anime and cosplay. No ticket price or purchase is required, just an application on Airbnb.

This experience takes place in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Each session lasts about three hours and runs only once that day. Fans must be at least 21 years old to apply and can submit requests from May 13 until May 20, 2025, at 11:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Airbnb will notify the twelve selected guests shortly after the window closes.

At the first station, guests pick an anime-style outfit from a wardrobe and keep it as a souvenir. Next, they brave the “Hottie Lava Lounge,” a simple floor-is-lava obstacle course played in small teams.

Then comes a one-on-one video-game match of Mortal Kombat 1 on an Xbox Series X, where winners earn their first charm. After that, they join a casual ramen-making session using Megan Thee Stallion's recipe, choosing toppings at a DIY bar. Finally, everyone plays a multiplayer battle royale on Xbox, and Megan hands out the last charms.

Airbnb’s Summer 2025 Originals includes several free experiences hosted by public figures like Patrick Mahomes and Karol G. Brian Chesky, Airbnb’s CEO, said these events let guests “connect with stars through story-driven, on-the-ground activities”. Megan Thee Stallion's Quest highlights her interests rather than promoting a product. It shows how a simple day-long event can bring fans into a creator’s world.

Megan Thee Stallion shared why this event is special to her

Megan Thee Stallion wrote,

“You know I love a good cosplay moment. My passion for anime has always been front and center, even in my music. It’s more than entertainment, it’s a way to express different sides of myself, and I want that for you, too!”
She also said, “My favorite part would definitely be either the ramen part or the hot lava. I really just like that they’re gonna get to experience all the things that I like”.
