In other developments surrounding Andrew Tate, Canadian media personality and former far-right YouTuber Lauren Southern has come forward with serious allegations against the controversial manosphere influencer.

In her new memoir This Is Not Real Life, Lauren Southern accuses Andrew Tate of drugging and s*xually assaulting her in a Romanian hotel room in 2018. She describes being physically overpowered and repeatedly strangled despite her efforts to resist.

The incident, she claims, was traumatic and took place during what was initially presented as a business meeting.

In an excerpt, she recounted the incident while emphasizing she was inebriated:

“I’d rather not give a detailed account, so I’ll keep it simple. He carried me back to the hotel room and asked me to sleep beside him.”

She went on:

“I was incredibly intoxicated, and some part of me convinced myself that because he was Tommy’s friend he wasn’t particularly dangerous. It was a poor decision but it happened.”

After briefly kissing, she recalled Andrew Tate wanting to go further despite her constant refusal.

“I said no, very clearly, multiple times, and tried to pull his hands off me. He put an arm around my neck and began strangling me unconscious.”

Southern detailed that she tried to protest, but he kept on repeatedly throttling her every time she regained consciousness.

Andrew Tate to face 2027 UK trial over civil abuse and coercive control claims

Lauren Southern’s account adds to the growing list of women speaking out about alleged violence and coercion tied to the influencer.

The accusation appears to align with a 2024 civil lawsuit filed in the UK by four British women, all granted with anonymity for protection, who allege that Andrew Tate subjected them to rape and sexual abuse between 2013 and 2016.

According to the claimants, Andrew Tate subjected them to various forms of violence, including physical assault and sexual abuse. The court filings also state that two of the women were romantically involved with Tate, while the other two worked for his online webcam business.

One of the women alleges that Tate once threatened her with a gun, while another woman claims she was strangled until she lost consciousness during sex.

Now 38, the kickboxer turned influencer has denied all accusations. His legal team, in written defence documents, insists that the claims are fabricated and that all interactions were consensual. His lawyer Vanessa Marshall told the court that Andrew Tate “intends to give evidence in his defence at trial.”

Meanwhile, attorney Anne Studd, who represents the four women, emphasized the significance of the case. She said:

“This will be the first occasion [coercive control] has been brought before the High Court in a civil context.”

She explained that coercive control could be viewed as:

“a form of grooming and manipulation where the victim becomes less and less able to respond in what might be perceived as a normal way.”

The lawsuit is scheduled to proceed to trial in early 2027.
