In the wake of perhaps one of the biggest scandals of the tech industry breaking out, Flexport CEO Ryan Petersen has also offered his two cents on the situation by taking shots at Astronomer CEO Andy Byron. Earlier today, Byron was caught on camera with co-worker Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert, which has led to rumors of infidelity.

Andy Byron has been at the helm of Astronomer since 2023, which is a company that specializes in Apache Airflow. At a time when most are condemning what appear to be Byron's extramarital relations, Ryan Petersen has ridiculed the data infrastructure company by suggesting that the company ought to consider giving Byron a raise.

In his now viral social media post, Ryan Petersen even suggested that Astronomer's specialty (management of Apache Airflow) might have remained unknown to many without this unexpected publicity. In the X post, he was quoted as saying:

"Board should give him a raise. Without this viral moment, I’d never know that Astronomer is used by enterprise clients to manage apache airflow and achieve 70% higher uptime than self-managed airflow."

What happened at the Coldplay concert?

Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was seen with Astronomer’s Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Boston today. For those uninitiated, Byron is reportedly a married man with two kids. So when he was spotted on the Kiss Cam with his co-worker at a Coldplay concert, it created quite a stir on social media.

The duo's reaction upon being caught by the cameras didn't help matters, with both seen shielding their faces while searching for cover. The duo's reaction also prompted Chris Martin to make an offhanded comment about the possibility of the two cheating on their partners, which, quite astonishingly, could turn out to be true.

Videos of the incident have since spread on social media, with a number of media figures, such as Ryan Petersen, mocking the incident over the last few hours. On the other side of the fence, some fans have suggested that the reaction has been overblown and have cast doubt on the feasibility of making assumptions based on a brief video clip.

Astronomer has yet to make any public statement about Andy Byron or his future with the company. With the incident having brought great spotlight on the company, it remains to be seen how it affects Astronomer’s valuation and reputation, especially given the company’s high-profile status.
