Why was Vitaly Zdorovetskiy arrested in Philippines?
On April 3, Vitaly Zdorovetskiy was arrested in Pasay City and faces charges of unjust vexation, attempted theft and alarm and scandal, according to The Philippine Star. Zdorovetskiy, who is known for pranking people during livestreams, was arrested due to his alleged harassment of Filipinos, captured during his Kick streams.
The Philippine Star noted that the streamer stole from a restaurant, posted fake reviews online, jumped into moving vehicles. His videos were also played during a press conference which showed him harassing an old woman and a security guard.
Dexerto noted that the streamer could face a maximum of 18 months in Philippine prison.
Earlier, Zdorovetskiy applied for bail with written assurances that he would remain in the National Capital Region to face justice, noted another report by The Philippine Star. However, his application was denied by an Immigration Commissioner, who stated,
“This is not just a matter of administrative procedure — it is about protecting the integrity of our immigration laws. Foreign nationals who abuse our hospitality and violate our laws must face the consequences. The Bureau is resolute: we will not allow our deportation process to be undermined by publicity tactics or legal maneuvering. No special treatment will be given.”
According to Complex, a Philippine Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla shared that Zdorovetskiy’s country of origin, Russia, as well as the U.S. had refused to accept him.
Vitaly Zdorovetskiy’s controversial streams in the Philippines
While Complex noted that Vitaly Zdorovetskiy’s streams had been posted to his Kick channel, which has now been taken down, various fans and netizens have made his stream available on social media platforms such as X.
In one particular clip, Zdorovetskiy can be seen approaching an aged Filipino threatening to rob her if she continues to walk away from him. After the woman declined Zdorovetskiy’s offer of money, the streamer began directing profane language towards her.
The video shared by Complex also displayed Zdorovetskiy targeting a security guard, first removing his hat and running away. He later chased the guard and shouted at him.
Zdorovetskiy later used profane language towards another Filipino, and continued to harass people sitting at an outdoor cafe. He later entered a restaurant and proceeded to cook to the surprise of the Filipino employees.
