Political commentator and author Candace Owens has raised several doubts about Charlie Kirk's murder investigation. In her X posts and podcasts, she often suspected involvement of people in the TPUSA founder's assassination.
Authorities had arrested Kirk's murder suspect, Tyler Robinson, in less than two days after the conservative activist was shot on September 10. Days later, Robinson's chats with his roommate were made public, in which he seemingly acknowledged killing Kirk.
However, Candace Owens has been challenging the investigation and even called the chat "doctored" in one of her September podcasts. Owens recently appeared on Myron Gaines' podcast, wherein she called Tyler Robinson a "patsy" and theorized that Kirk's murder was a "military hit." On November 20, she doubled down on her claims after a KUTV report stated that Tyler Robinson's video of turning him in was apparently missing.
She played a video of a KUTV investigative report, in which footage of Tyler Robinson's arrest was sought under a GRAMA request. However, the authorities turned down the request, and the response seemingly read:
"Our office does not have any applicable records responsive to this request, as the surveillance footage is no longer available after the 30-day retention period."
Citing the investigative report, Candace Owens said she had already remarked that Robinson's dad turning him in was "a lie." She added,
"I was called a liar and no one believed it... Now mysteriously the footage of Tyler Robinson turning himself in, which should in theory show his dad and him walking in... I don't know guys just we just can't get one verifiable piece of evidence that Tyler Robinson even exists... Is he just an AI app? Does Tyler Robinson even exist at this point?"
Candace Owens blasts critics calling her Charlie Kirk's assassination coverage a "conspiracy theory"
Candace Owens said that she had earlier stated that claims made by authorities were "crap." She further questioned why Tyler Robinson could not appear in person and was appearing virtually instead. She slammed people for calling her coverage a "conspiracy theory."
"How dare they call anything that we are covering a conspiracy theory. The conspiracy theory—I'll tell you what it is right now... The conspiracy theory is that Tyler Robinson, who did not attend UVU, had never been on UVU campus, packed up his car that day, jumped onto a rooftop, figured out how to like jump around like Spider-Man and just knew exactly where Charlie Kirk would be seated just by having never been there. Took a shot, one shot with a 30-06 that got stopped because Charlie eats spinach."
She further insinuated that Tyler Robinson's disclosure of "every minute" detail about shooting Charlie Kirk in a chat was part of a "conspiracy."
"That's actually the conspiracy theory. Like that's the tin foil hat conspiracy theory. I don't want you guys to believe that," Candace Owens added.
Earlier on Wednesday, Candace Owens challenged the head of security's claims about drone restrictions at UVU. Owens cited old footage from the Megyn Kelly show, in which a TPUSA member was talking about the presence of drones on the day of the shooting.
