Lindsay Lohan recently spoke about her relationship with the internet as she was promoting her role as host of the third annual Betch of the Year Awards. It is a digital pop culture ceremony sponsored by Dunkin' and produced by Betches Media.

Lohan says she has accepted that she is not great at keeping up with online memes and trends. In an interview with PEOPLE, the Freakier Friday and Mean Girls star admitted she does not naturally pick up trending slang. She revealed:

"I hear from other people. I mean, I did not know what rizz was until I was with the girls in Freakier Friday, Sophia [Hammons] and Julia [Butters], and they were teaching me. I'm really bad at it."

Some fans might interpret that as a sign of being out of touch. However, Lindsay Lohan said,

"I just say, 'Oh, I don't pay attention.'"

Lindsay Lohan's favorite movies and TV shows of 2025

Despite joking about not keeping up with memes, Lindsay Lohan does keep herself updated with new industry releases. Speaking for New York Magazine's "Culturati 50 Issue," the Mean Girls actress revealed:

"F1: The Movie because it was thrilling, fast-paced, and beautifully shot. The racing felt real and immersive, and the underdog redemption story gave it real heart. Sinners because it was stylish, dark and unapologetic. The performances were magnetic, and it pushed boundaries in a way that felt fresh. I watched The Roses recently. It was really cute. I enjoyed seeing Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch in a dark, comedic way."

According to Lindsay Lohan, the best TV show of 2025 is Wayward. She explained:

"It was gripping and atmospheric. I loved how it mixed mystery with emotional depth, keeping me hooked episode after episode. Sirens because it was sharp, funny, and a little dangerous. The characters kept surprising me. Your Friends & Neighbors. It was clever, edgy, and full of tension. I liked how it balanced dark humor with suspense."

The actress added:

"I loved Toni Collette in Wayward. She is always playing such interesting characters. Joaquin Phoenix was great in Eddington. Joaquin has this way of pulling you in without ever trying too hard. There is so much emotion in the smallest moments with him. He made his character feel like someone you could know, strong but vulnerable at the same time. It is the kind of performance that stays with you."

The announcement that Lindsay Lohan would host the third annual Betch of the Year Awards was made on December 1, 2025. The awards celebrate the memes, creators, viral internet moments, and more. Lohan introduced this year's nominees in a video that featured multiple viral pop culture references, including "6-7," "mamacitas," and The White Lotus season 3 blender joke.
