English journalist and media personality Piers Morgan reportedly found himself in a sea of backlash following his post about Beyoncé's Levi's ad. He took to his X channel on August 6 (@piersmorgan) to weigh in on the Single Ladies's recent photoshoot with Levi's and noted that he was "very disappointed" and went on to write that it "culturally appropriates Marilyn Monroe."
The post soon became a hotpot of criticism against Morgan, with many coming in support of the singer. Some noted that Marilyn Monroe is "not culture", rather that she is a pop icon and actress, while others didn't understand the sudden attention jeans advertisements are drawing. Following the backlash, Morgan reportedly responded to multiple comments about his post.
American actress and singer Dionne Warwick reposted X user Pop Crave's post about Morgan's comment and wrote,
"Getting involved in women’s business again, I see…"
To which Morgan promptly responded,
"Oh not you too, Dionne… it was a JOKE!"
