“It’s not journalism”: Bari Weiss faces backlash for alleged bias in Erika Kirk interview, labeling Candace Owens a liar

Bari Weiss has been facing backlash for her alleged biased approach as a media personality in Erika Kirk’s interview, calling Candace Owens’ claims about Charlie’s murder lies. On December 11, CBS News dropped snippets of Erika Kirk’s interview with Bari Weiss ahead of the episode’s release on Saturday, December 13. In one of the teaser clips, Bari Weiss was seen calling Candace Owens a liar, while asking question to Erika about conspiracies.

Bari Weiss called Candace Owens one of the main peddlers of conspiracies about Charlie Kirk’s murder. Bari Weiss also said that Candace Owens is making huge amount of money on these conspiracies.

“The podcaster Candace Owens. Okay. At one time a friend of Charlie's, at one time an employee of Turning Point, she has been one of the main peddlers of these conspiracies and she is making a huge amount of money on it. She is building her business off of these lies.”

Bari then asked Erika, what she would like to say Candace Owens and other people who are putting out lies in the world.

“What do you want to say to her and the other people that are putting these lies out into the world right now?”

To this, Erika Kirk replied:

“Stop. That's it. That's all I have to say. Stop.”

As the video went viral on the internet, people slammed Bari Weiss for intentionally targeting Candace, keeping aside her neutral approach.

One of them on X said: “It’s not journalism, nor is it meant to be.”

Internet called out Bari Weiss for targeting Candace Owens during Erika Kirk interview

One internet user said everything is pre-recorded and that it looked like a ‘psychological operation': “the whole thing was pre recorded and questions were given ahead of time. It is like the perfect psyop.”

Another fan demanded proof that Candace is telling lies about Charlie Kirk’s murder: “provide your proof that candace has only said lies."

An online user commented: "Apparently, bias in general, wasn’t the issue - it was about the type of bias.”

Another online user said that it’s not proper journalism: “There is no proper journalism on mainstream media. It’s all propaganda and fake. You see what they do to actual journalists. They try to ruin them.”

A netizen said that Bari Weiss is pushing chosen narrative: “She is telling a chosen narrative instead of reporting.”

An online user said: “I thought you were gonna be a NEW, NEUTRAL, INDEPENDENT VOICE for @CBSNews LOL That's hilarious.”

Candace Owens called out Bari Weiss in latest podcast

The political commentator took to her new podcast to discuss about Bari Weiss. Candace claimed that she is being attacked for telling the truth and asking questions. She called this their strategy.

“I'm attacked for catching the lies. We'll get to that later. That's their new method. First they accuse me of lying, then I prove I'm not lying. And then their strategy is to attack me for telling the truth."

In related news, Candace recently stated that Charlie Kirk was betrayed by his organization, TPUSA. Kirk was shot dead on September 10 this year.
