Joe Jonas is speaking out after a viral video led to online rumors about drug use. The singer, 36, addressed the issue in a new interview with Esquire while promoting the Jonas Brothers’ current tour. The clip, which resurfaced online, showed Joe fidgeting with his nose during a concert performance, leading to speculation about cocaine use.

In the interview, Joe directly denied the claims, saying he has never used cocaine. The singer also used humor to downplay the viral moment, suggesting people misinterpreted an ordinary act. The conversation gave fans a clearer picture of how he feels about rumors spreading on social media.

The Only Human artist also spoke about life on tour with his brothers, his dating life, and how being online affects what he sees and responds to. The interview offered a look at how Joe handles attention and the constant presence of cameras and fan posts.

In the Esquire interview published on October 20, Joe Jonas said he was aware of the recent online buzz.

He addressed the video directly, saying, “I’ve never touched cocaine in my life.” He added, “But if I did, I think I’d be a little slicker about it than doing it onstage.”

The viral clip showed Joe stepping off to the side during a Jonas Brothers concert to check his nose. Fans recorded him as he switched between using his finger and a cloth to clean up. The moment led some social media users to claim he was using cocaine.

Joe quickly responded online when the video went viral, joking in a comment, “lol you never had a booger?”

His response suggested that the video captured nothing more than a normal, human moment. The comment also showed Joe’s choice to take a light approach rather than let the rumors grow.

Outside of the controversy, Joe Jonas shared details about his life on tour and his relationships. He said performing with his brothers Nick and Kevin leaves little time for dating.

“Five shows in a row doesn’t make it easy to meet someone for coffee,” he said.

Joe Jonas also said he is not using dating apps right now.

“I guess Instagram and TikTok are apps, and I’ve met people that way,” he explained, noting he is “extremely online” and often sees what people post about him.

That constant connection means he’s aware of fan chatter and can address stories in real time.

The singer also reflected on his co-parenting relationship with ex-wife Sophie Turner. The two share daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3. A source told PEOPLE earlier this year that Joe and Sophie have found a working rhythm.

“There’s a mutual respect now, and the girls are their priority,” the insider said.
