North’s advice to Kim Kardashian and her growing confidence

Kim Kardashian talked about the advice from North while getting ready for the Met Gala in May 2025. She said, “She’s a big critiquer, but it’s pretty good.” Kim explained that North was honest but kind with her thoughts. Before Kim stepped out on the red carpet, North told her, “Just be yourself.” Kim said she loved that energy. She felt proud that her daughter was so positive and supportive. Even though North didn’t attend the Met Gala, she was in the car with Kim and stayed with her right until she arrived.

This wasn’t the first time North shared her strong opinions. In a past interview with Interview Magazine in 2024, North said she liked taking pictures of herself but didn’t like the paparazzi.

“When I just woke up and there's so much paparazzi, I'm like, 'Yo, I’m going to sue you. If I’m ready, if I’m not tired, if my outfit's good, I'm like, 'Okay, I could take a picture.’”

North also helps manage her own image. She knows what she likes and doesn’t like, and she isn’t afraid to say it. This is very rare for someone her age. In another, she recreated one of Kim’s famous fashion looks using tape and a wig. Even though she is only 12, North seems very sure of who she is. In her Interview chat with Kim, she said,

“I already do a lot of stuff that I want to be when I grow up. I just want to pursue my careers now.”

It’s clear that North West is growing up with confidence, humor, and a strong voice. Whether it’s giving her mom advice or planning her own future, she is already showing the world who she is.
