Kelly Clarkson has been seen in public for the first time since the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. On August 23, 2025, she was photographed arriving at Los Angeles International Airport with her children and sister. She wore all-black clothing, including sweatpants, a wide-brimmed hat, and dark sunglasses.

This was her first appearance after a period of silence following the news of Blackstock’s death. The singer kept her expression subdued and did not interact with the press. She focused on being with her children, River and Remington, during the outing.

Blackstock died on August 7, 2025, at the age of 48. His family revealed he had been battling melanoma for three years. His illness had not been made public, and he died peacefully with loved ones around him.

Clarkson is electing to stay out of the public eye at this time. She also has not released a statement regarding the death of Blackstock publicly. Her children were very close to their father, and she is assisting them all through to overcome the loss.
