The 2025 BET Awards brought a surprising and talked-about moment when host Kevin Hart invited Kai Cenat and Druski to the stage. The purpose was to help introduce rapper Playboi Carti, but Hart took the opportunity to deliver a lesson on professionalism to the two popular internet personalities.

Hart told the audience, “I brought them out here for a reason. I’m setting them up to potentially host this show in the future.”

With this setup, he shifted to a more serious message about how professionalism is a key component of success at large public events, such as award shows. His tone remained playful, but his message had depth.

“You gotta know how to act when you’re on this kind of stage,” Hart said. “This is an award show. It ain’t a Twitch stream.”

While the crowd laughed, Cenat and Druski listened carefully. The moment turned into a public learning experience, one that Hart delivered in his signature comedic style.

Why did Kevin Hart bring Kai Cenat and Druski on stage?

Kevin Hart, known for mixing humor with insight, used the moment to spotlight two young stars. Cenat and Druski were brought on stage to introduce Playboi Carti’s performance. But Hart had something else in mind.

“I’m not just throwing y’all out here for fun,” he told them. “This is practice. I want y’all to see what it feels like to do this the right way.”

Hart made it clear that he believes in their talent. However, he also stressed that internet fame and hosting an award show are two different things.

“This stage? It’s not a joke. It’s real,” he said.

Hart gave them a glimpse of what it would take to go further in their careers if they were ready to adapt.

The appearance ended with the two helping to introduce Playboi Carti, but not before Hart threw in a sharp one-liner:

“No messing around, no baby oil, no drama—just do the job.”

What did Kevin Hart say about professionalism?

Hart didn’t hold back when discussing what it means to be professional in front of a live audience.

He told Cenat and Druski, “You can’t take this lightly. People are watching. This ain’t your living room.”

His tone was humorous, but the message was profound. He also added a direct comment to underline his point:

“You want this job in the future? Then act like it.”

While some may have thought he was being hard on them, the overall tone remained playful. The audience responded with laughter, applause, and cheers.

Kevin Hart also used the chance to reference recent controversies in pop culture.

Referring to the BET Awards taking place on a Monday, he joked, “Take your a**es home after this; that’s why I did this on a Monday.”

Then he threw in a line presumably aimed at Sean "Diddy" Combs, saying,

“That’s where s--- gets slippery, at them goddamn afterparties. We’re learning a lot about people, ain’t we?”
