Lauren Sanchez reveals diet secrets on losing weight before getting married to Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos’s newlywed wife, Lauren Sanchez, had her priorities straight about getting in shape before the wedding. An exclusive interview with Vogue, published on June 27, 2025, mentioned that she lost more than three pounds.

Lauren Sanchez mentioned that the reason behind her weight loss was her workout. She also gave up alcohol and avoided salt as much as she could. She said:

“Some people meditate, I work out. It’s something Jeff and I do every morning. We have our coffee, we talk about whatever’s going on, and then we go to the gym.”

She added:

“I’m grateful to be stepping into a different role and I don’t take it lightly. I think it comes with a responsibility, and that is to give back. That is my mission.”

Despite that, she mentioned that food was an important part of her life, and she likes to eat. Speaking of her wedding dress, which was designed by Dolce & Gabbana, she said the gown she chose was the first formal dress she had ever worn that offered such full coverage at the chest.

Lauren Sanchez explained that it was different from others and even what she might typically expect, but still felt true to her style. She believed Jeff Bezos would be pleasantly surprised and thought he would love it, describing the dress as elegant and timeless. Reflecting on wedding traditions, she said:

“We don’t have a lot of traditions that we’re keeping. I mean, I love traditions, but for a 55-year-old woman, it’s a little different.”

What did Lauren Sanchez say about Jeff Bezos during the interview?

Lauren Sanchez said that for her "something blue," she chose something connected to her Blue Origin space flight. She explained that the journey to space was one of the most meaningful experiences of her life.

Seeing Earth from that perspective deeply affected her, and she admitted that after returning, it was hard to put the experience into words. Jeff Bezos had told her it would be more life-changing than she expected, and she felt it truly was, both visually and spiritually. Speaking of her husband, Lauren Sanchez said:

“I went into a lot of therapy and it’s changed me in a bunch of ways. But it’s really Jeff. Jeff hasn’t changed me. Jeff has revealed me. I feel safe. I feel seen. He lets me be me. Like I said about Sophia Loren being unapologetically free, he lets me be unapologetically free.”

She shared how excited she felt seeing the tuxedo for Bezos, calling it the best she had ever seen. She said Jeff Bezos would look good in it.

She explained that while he appreciated fashion and looked great in whatever he wore, he didn’t put as much thought into it as she did. Her idea of the wedding makeup was:

“Hardly any glam, the least amount of make-up. This is part of the evolution. I want it as natural as you can get it.”

Lauren Sanchez expressed that what mattered most to her wasn’t the dress but the fact that she was marrying someone she deeply loved and considered her best friend. She felt seen and cherished by him and said she adored him just as much, calling herself the luckiest woman in the world.
