Political commentator Megyn Kelly shared her thoughts about Candace Owens. At the 2025 AmFest, Kelly joined Jack Posobiec in a discussion about Charlie Kirk’s murder. At one point during the conversation, Kelly mentioned that Erika Kirk once called her and said she wanted to sit down with Owens while Kelly could serve as the moderator of the conversation.

She mentioned that Candace Owens wanted the conversation to be livestreamed. Even though she had qualms about it, Kelly said it felt like “divine order.” She mentioned:

“I know people are very angry at Candace right now and I understand it but I have to say and Ben yet another thing he mocked me for was saying she was a young mother. Candace had like literally just had a baby and I'm sorry maybe Ben [Shapiro] doesn't understand but that is a vulnerable position for a woman and then her friend got shot in the neck and so I did think she deserved a wide birth right after Charlie's death to explore what she wanted to explore.”

Megyn Kelly said she did not agree with what Candace Owens said about Erika. Meanwhile, Candace said she couldn’t come to Arizona for the conversation with Erika, and so Erika agreed to go to Candace. Kelly said that although it was not livestreamed, the meeting turned out well.

Why didn’t Megyn Kelly raise questions to Candace Owens?

Megyn Kelly said she wanted Candace Owens to ask questions, but move beyond Turning Point USA and Erika. However, she added:

“I also object for the record to the people who have tried to shut Candace down entirely on inquiring into what if any role did Israel have here? And I want to make clear, I don't think Israel had any role. I think Tyler Robinson k*lled Charlie.”

Speaking about not asking counter questions to Candace Owens, Kelly said:

“But why did I have an obligation to stop Candace from asking those questions? I call her out because I favored her asking them.”

Jack Posobiec asked about the future of the movement. Megyn Kelly said that they were more united than ever. Kelly said that she wanted to make one last point about pro-Israel activists, clarifying that they were not the same as Jewish Americans, whom she described positively.

She argued that these activists had been too aggressive and that this behavior had unnecessarily divided people. Megyn Kelly added that the focus should have been on the United States and that putting America first was, in her view, the best way forward. She went on to say:

“And I think we need to remember that the people who are literally k*lling us, like literally k*lling us, are the ones who are the true enemy. These crazy radical leftists are the ones about whom we need to worry, not our own side.”

Remembering his time in the Navy, Jack Posobiec said that he and his colleagues would watch The Kelly File on Fox. He appreciated how she supported them.
