Tyler Robinson, the suspected Charlie Kirk shooter, made his virtual appearance in court on Tuesday, Sept. 16, after being officially charged with aggravated murder earlier today.

Per the documents, Tyler Robinson confessed to his roommate about the shooting. Following the incident, the suspect's mother revealed that he had leaned more to the left and become more politically active over the last year.

The mother continued, confessing that his son became "pro-gay and trans-right oriented," adding that he:

“began to date his roommate, a biological male who was transitioning genders."

A series of texts between Robinson and his roommate was also obtained by the Utah County officials and transcribed by CNN. In the exchange that reportedly took place on the day of the incident, the suspect confessed:

"I am still ok my love, but am stuck in orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you."

When asked why he did it, Robinson said:

"I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it."

The roommate further asked how long he had been planning this, and Robinson answered:

"a bit over a week I believe. I can get close to it but there is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don’t wanna chance it"

Tyler Robinson is facing seven criminal counts, including obstruction of justice, aggravated murder, and witness tampering.

Prosecutors also announced their intention to seek capital punishment.

Digital trail points to Tyler Robinson’s admission: "I'm sorry for all this"

Tyler Robinson appeared to confess to the Charlie Kirk murder through a Discord chat. A company representative said that an account allegedly belonging to Robinson messaged friends on the platform hours after the shooting incident.

A message read:

"It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this."

Following this, FBI Director Kash Patel stated that they intend to pursue questioning the members of the Discord group chat with Tyler Robinson.

Patel added that there were "a lot more" than 20 users in that Discord chat, vowing that investigators would be "running out every lead."

Meanwhile, at the hearing, Judge Tony Graf "provissionally" appointed an attorney to represent Tyler Robinson.

However, Graf told Robinson that his attorney still needs to provide the court with paperwork on their qualifications prior to the next hearing, scheduled for Sept. 29.
