Security guard steps on Kim Kardashian’s gown at the 2025 Met Gala, leaving the socialite reportedly agitated

Kim Kardashian’s appearance at the 2025 Met Gala met with an unfortunate episode. As she walked to the car, her bodyguard accidentally stepped on her gown, but it did not cause any mishap.

However, social media reports mention that she allegedly glared at the person, although it is not explicit in the viral videos.

The incident happened when the socialite left The Mark Hotel and was on her way to the venue, NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. An X user (@OliLondonTV) shared the video with the caption:

"Kim Kardashian appears to scold security guard after he stood on her dress as she headed to the Met Gala wearing a leather hat and crocodile dress."

She left the hotel with her daughter, North West, and was surrounded by paparazzi at the main entrance. Kim Kardashian wore a backless outfit at the event. She completed the look with a string of pearls, a leather fedora, and many diamond accessories.

Met Gala’s 2025 theme focused on celebrating Black fashion, and the dress code was “Superfine: Tailored for You.” Meanwhile, North West wore a matching cowhide jacket and shorts set, along with black high crew Nike socks and black leather Rick Owens.

Kim Kardashian had experienced Met Gala outfit issues in the past. In 2023, some pearls on her elaborate Schiaparelli gown came loose after the event. In 2022, she sparked controversy by wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress, which appeared damaged afterward, though Ripley's confirmed she wasn’t responsible.

Kim Kardashian spoke to Variety about her 2025 Met Gala look. She said it was Chrome Hearts because she loved those. According to her:

"And we wanted to take, you know, have our little take on it. And we wanted them to really design it. It's like a vest suit with a dress."

When Emma Chamberlain, the influencer and interviewer, asked how her day was, Kim said it was a chill day. She said she brought her oldest daughter every time she attended the event so that she could see her mother and aunts get ready. Chamberlain asked what her daughter taught her about fashion, and she said:

"She's a big critic but it's pretty good, you know her critiquing. But you know, just be yourself, right?"

Kim Kardashian went on:

"She's also, I think she's in a really positive place, like vibe right now, where it's just like, ‘Hey, even if that's not my style, I'm not gonna critique that because, like, just be you and if you like that, then that's what you should be into.’ So, I love that energy and so she was like such a positive force tonight."

Last year, Kim wore a Margiela dress paired with a gray sweater. She told Variety on the red carpet that she was going for a look that suggested she had an unforgettable night in a garden and quickly threw on her boyfriend’s sweater before leaving.
