It seems like Billy McFarland, infamously known for the failed Fyre Festival, was quite successful in hosting the PHNX event. As per an Instagram post from McFarland’s Instagram wall, PHNX was scheduled to be held from December 5 to 8. It was held in Diamond Cay in Utila Bay Islands. Guests, including Slim Jxmmi, French Montana, and others, reportedly performed at the event, whose main performance was on December 6.

According to Consequence, the festival did not have a huge number of attendees. There were only a few hundred people scattered around. Reports came about that even local people were invited to attend the festival for free. Meanwhile, PHNX was livestreamed, and viewers could access it only after they purchased a ticket for $6.99.

However, the viewers were around a hundred. Moreover, general tickets were sold between $200 and $500,000. Those who purchased the $500,000 tickets could enjoy exclusive benefits like a golf cart, a personal chef, dining with the artists, and with Billy McFarland.

According to The Mirror US, PHNX met several shortcomings during its course. The Billy McFarland-curated event also experienced power outages, although they were temporary. During French Montana’s performance, he tried to get the audience hyped by asking them to sing along.

However, the response wasn’t too great. To energize the crowd, he even said:

“Congratulations you only got mother*cker life to live. You gotta have fun with this sh*t. Let's go.”

Not only that, but there was also an incident when a random person got onto the stage while Montana was performing. Videos circulating on the internet also showed that Slim Jxmmi’s mic faced a power issue, and the lights turned off.

According to Vulture, washrooms were available this. People could also get food, but many complained about it, as a post by @consequence mentioned:

The food was a plate of rice and corn. Speaking to Storyful, a person named Sundance Bauman said:

“Our team worked very well together to overcome every obstacle and challenge presented to us and in the end the community really pulled together to help us overcome last minute logistical challenges and the end result was awesome.”

As seen in one of McFarland’s recent Instagram videos, people were enjoying and dancing during one of the performances while fireworks illuminated the sky.

In another video, McFarland said:

“The event is about to start. I want to give you guys a quick tour. Got a little fruit stand. Here we have the bar, back there; the stage; the camera ops; the livestream team. It’s all about to go down.”

Billy McFarland shared another video from the day in which he was enthusiastically seen saying that the event would begin in half an hour. Although he couldn’t show everything to the viewers, he asked them to turn on the livestream.
