Former TV personality Josh Duggar is presently serving a prison sentence after he was convicted of child p*rnography.

According to court documents viewed exclusively by The U.S. Sun, Duggar is now facing financial hurdles as his family is no longer sending him funds. The outlet notes that he was left with $0.22 by April 2025, in addition to having a $0.02 debt.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Duggar family has a net worth of $3.5 million. They had a reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, which lasted till 2015.

Meanwhile, the court documents revealed that Josh Duggar has no job in prison and is left without any savings. As seen in the court papers, he wrote:

“Movant currently performs a prison work assignment but does not receive any pay for compensation. Therefore, Movant has no employment income to report. Movant currently has no personal or real property possessions in his ownership.”

Josh Duggar also claimed that he used to get money from his family and friends, which had recently stopped coming through. Duggar wrote that he has to clear previous dues from the legal proceedings, but is unable to do so due to his financial situation. He said he had the right to get help.

Earlier this year, Duggar appealed to the court, asking for a legal team. However, given his financial condition, he said he wouldn’t be able to afford lawyers. The media outlet notes that his request was not granted by the court.

What did Josh Duggar say about his ex-girlfriend’s mother’s testimony?

In July 2025, The U.S. Sun published an exclusive report stating Josh Duggar spoke ill of his former girlfriend’s mother, who testified during the trial. At the time, he was self-representing in court and noted that his trial was compromised based on several grounds, including the testimony by Bobye Holt.

Holt said that although her daughter and Josh were supposed to get married, she and her husband decided to call off the wedding after learning about Josh Duggar’s records.

During the trial, which took place in 2021, Holt claimed:

“He told us so our oldest daughter would know why the relationship had to end. Josh went to a facility for troubled youth.”

Meanwhile, concerning her testimony, the court papers mentioned:

“Despite multiple objections from defense counsel, the trial court allowed Holt to testify about an alleged confession of uncharged criminal conduct by the defendant dating back to 2003.”

In court papers, Josh Duggar argued that Holt refused to speak to his lawyers before the trial and that the prosecution didn't share important details that could have shown she was not fully reliable. He added that her actions were not neutral as she worked closely with the prosecution.

He also claimed that she had often posted negative things about the Duggar family online and strongly wanted to harm their reputation. Josh compared her to a bitter ex who disliked him because he didn't let her daughter be with him.

Duggar added that she and her husband took part in paid media projects, like an Amazon show, that attacked the Duggar family. He revealed the jury was never told about this behavior or bias.
