Jayceon Taylor, popularly recognised by his stage name The Game or Game has opened up about his reasons for denying a potential collaboration with Michael Jackson. During an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Sharon Sharpe, published on December 11, Game elaborated on the "weird story" when Michael Jackson attempted to end the beef between him and 50 Cent.

Once allies, Game and 50 Cent have reportedly had beef with each other since the early 2000s. According to XXL magazine, the beef turned violent in 2005, with the conflict leading to an eventual shootout at the Hot 97 Radio studio. Complex magazine reported that this came after 50 Cent announced on the radio channel that Game had been "kicked out" of G-Unit. In his November 2024 interview with the outlet, Game recollected the incident and said,

"We got into some shit with his entourage and his security, and shots were fired, a lot of shots were fired."

The Game reveals he denied a Michael Jackson collaboration due to his feud with 50 Cent

The Game and 50 Cent's beef has reportedly continued for over two decades. While there have been reports of the beef being "paused" or of the two squashing the beef, they seem to share an on-and-off relationship. In a new interview with Shannon Sharpe, Game opened up about how Michael Jackson had attempted to stop the beef between the two.

In the new episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, Shannon brought up whether it was "true", Game replied,

"Yeah man, it was a weird story, don't even sound like a real one, it's true man."

When Shannon probed into further details, Game responded that "Mike" (Michael Jackson) called him when he was in Canada. He said,

"'He called me and said, "Man, Michael Jackson on the phone." He said it so non-chalantly, I was like "Huh? What??"

He went on to recall that he was put on hold for "20-25 minutes". Following the wait, he spoke to Michael, and the latter praised 50 Cent and The Game's single, How We Do, describing it as "magical." Game added,

"“He said ‘I don’t know why you guys are at odds and beefing. I got an idea, we should fix the beef on my album.” And that’s when he lost me.”

The Game explained that he was immediately thrown off by the idea, since he "hated" 50 Cent. He added,

"So, I hung up."

Shannon was left shocked after hanging up on the "greatest artist ever", while Game joked that he was "24" at the time.

In a recent conversation with Shannon Sharpe, The Game opened up about all things music and the time he hung up on Michael Jackson, after he attempted to patch things up between him and 50 Cent.
