Blueface and Soulja Boy’s feud became one of the most public hip-hop disputes of recent years. What started as a verbal disagreement online slowly turned into legal trouble with real financial consequences. The conflict mixed music competition, personal accusations, and social media posts that crossed legal boundaries.

The situation escalated in late 2023 when Blueface made claims about fathering a child that was not his. Those statements led to a defamation lawsuit filed by Jackilyn Martinez, the mother of Soulja Boy’s child. The case later resulted in a court judgment against Blueface and the seizure of his music royalties.

As of late 2025, Blue owes more than $130,000 following the lawsuit loss. A judge ordered that his royalties from major music organizations be redirected to pay the debt. The ruling marked the final and most serious chapter in the feud.

How did the feud between Blueface and Soulja Boy begin?

It broke out in a podcast appearance that took place in December 2023. Blueface argued that he was capable of winning a Verzuz-style music battle against Soulja Boy. He claimed that his songs would do better than Soulja Boy's in his catalog. The message soon went viral.

Soulja Boy reacted via Instagram live. He even laughs at the music career of Blue and doubts his relevance. He claimed that Blue was not a good competitor, as he lacked sufficient hit songs. This communication led to continued Internet attacks between the two artists.

The cross-posting continued on Instagram and X. They were profiling each other both in their careers and personal lives. Both rappers dared each other to fight. They even gave names to dates and places. There was no actual physical confrontation.

Lawsuit, defamation claims, and royalty seizure

The feud escalated when Blueface made public posts about Jackilyn Martinez and her child. This was even though he had not been romantically involved with Martinez since 2018 and had repeatedly claimed that the child was his. Court records later established that Soulja Boy is the child’s biological father.

In December 2023, Martinez filed a defamation lawsuit against Blueface. He failed to respond to the case, leading to a default judgment scheduled for April 2025. The court awarded Martinez $123,245 in damages, including $100,000 for pain and suffering. With accrued interest, the total judgment later rose to $131,655.

In December 2025, Judge Peter Hernandez ruled that all royalties owed to Blueface through BMI and ASCAP be assigned to Martinez. The order allows these funds to be seized through a legal writ of execution to satisfy the outstanding judgment.

In January 2024, Soulja Boy confirmed publicly that the feud had ended. According to him, the situation had gone far enough and did not have to continue. Subsequently, the two never similarly interacted with one another again.

Later, Blueface made some brief comments in interviews, and the feud did not resume. In the background, the legal case was going on just quietly. The last seizure of royalty put the controversy back in the spotlight.

Meanwhile, Blueface has been struggling with other things. It is anticipated that he will be back in celebrity boxing in 2026 following a prison sentence. It has been reported that the fight is already financed and already being planned.
