On August 26, Rolling Stone published a list of the 25 influential creators for this year. As seen in the list, MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, has been placed seventh, while Caleb Hearon is sixth on the list. Social media reports mention that MrBeast wasn’t too happy about it. In a now-deleted X post, he called out the outlet for the ranking.
Replying to an X post by FearedBuck, MrBeast wrote:
“According to this list a guy with 1 million followers is more influential than me. What did I do to piss off The Rolling Stones.”
A social media user replied to MrBeast, saying he should show some respect to Caleb Hearon. Responding to the netizen, MrBeast wrote:
“Ngl after this I watched some of his stuff and it's actually good. I deleted the tweet I don't want the smoke from the shooters, spare me plz.”
The magazine mentioned that MrBeast has 871.6m followers and noted:
“This year alone, Donaldson, 27, has flirted with taking over as the new X CEO and made a bid to buy TikTok.”
On the other hand, Caleb Hearon has 1.6 million followers. Speaking to Rolling Stone last year, he said he felt proud of not hating himself for being fat, even though society often did. He wanted fat kids, especially gay ones living in strict places, to see his work and believe that they could still have a happy and cool life.
IShowSpeed ranks as the best creator as per the Rolling Stone list
Meanwhile, Rolling Stone recognised IShowSpeed as the best influential creator, keeping him in the first position. The magazine shared that IShowSpeed turned his childhood nickname and love for gaming into a huge streaming career. In 2024, he made history by getting 1 million people to watch him live on YouTube during his trip to Indonesia.
Kai Cenat is in the fourth position, having 80.1 million followers. Speaking about the growth in the world of streaming, Cenat previously told the outlet:
“It builds up. So it’s like when you start, you start with a certain amount [of] viewers and, as you just keep getting bigger, you get used to it. And it’s not like you’re just reading everything that’s going by. It’s the chat; you can pin it, the chat stops and then goes again. So I just catch it when it stops.”
In the fifth position of the influential creators list, there is Quenlin Blackwell. Rolling Stone notes that she previously had a strong presence on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter). Speaking about what it means to be an ‘It Girl,’ Blackwell said the term refers to someone who is genuine and is proud of who they are. However, she suggested that one should not try to be an ‘It Girl.’
Rolling Stone placed streamer Hasan Piker in the eighth position of the list. It was followed by others like Alex Cooper, Jake Shane, Duke Dennis, Tefi Pessoa, Speedy Morman, Ironmouse, Anayka She, and others.
