Chris Brown recently appeared in a London court for the hearing of his bottle attack case.

The hearing took place at the Southwark Crown Court. As per the reports by People Magazine, the trial is set for October 26, 2026, and is expected to last about five to seven days.

Chris Brown is accused of two charges. Firstly, he is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. He is also charged with carrying an offensive weapon. The weapon is said to be a bottle. These charges come from an alleged attack that happened back in February 2023 at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London.

The reports by AP News states that he also faces another serious charge which is attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. He already pleaded not guilty to this charge on June 20, 2025. The judge set July 11, 2025, for him to enter pleas to the newer charges.

Court arrival and Chris Brown's trial

Chris Brown appeared in court on July 11, 2025. Reports by Reuters stated that he spoke only to confirm his name and plea. He said, “Not guilty.” His co‑defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, was there. Akinlolu is also known as rapper HoodyBaby, and he, too, pleaded not guilty.

As per the reports by The Sun, the judge has scheduled the trial to begin on October 26, 2026.

Background of Chris Brown's case

The reports by AP news stated that on February 19, 2023, the incident took place at Tape nightclub. Witnesses say producer Abraham Diaw was at the club bar and he was struck with a bottle. He was allegedly hit several times. He was also punched and kicked. CCTV footage reportedly captured the attack.

After the attack, police began investigating the case, as mentioned in the reports by Independent.com. On May 15, 2025, police arrested Chris Brown. He was at the Lowry Hotel in Salford, near Manchester. He had come to the UK to start his tour. He was then taken to Manchester Magistrates’ Court. At first, he was denied bail and was held in custody until May 21, when he was granted bail. The court set bail at £5 million.

Soon after, he began performing again. He launched his “Breezy Bowl XX” tour. He also performed at shows in Europe, Amsterdam, Manchester, Cardiff, and other cities.
