Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a political influencer, was shot on Wednesday during a scheduled speaking event at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah.

The incident occurred after noon when a single shot was fired as Charlie Kirk began addressing students who gathered in the campus quad near the food court. University officials confirmed that the influencer was shot and taken to a hospital. He is now reported to be in critical condition.

The attack immediately shut down the campus. Students were told to leave the premises, and nearby schools were also placed on lockdown. According to a UVU statement, the gunfire came from a building about 200 yards away. A suspect was taken into custody.

PR manager for Turning Point USA confirmed the news, stating:

"We are confirming that he was shot and we are praying for Charlie."

What we know about Charlie Kirk's family: Wife Erika Frantzve and children

Kirk married Erika Frantzve in May 2021 after they met in 2019. Their wedding took place in Scottsdale, Arizona. They are parents to two children. Their daughter, Sarah Rose, was born in 2021. They also have a son, who was born in 2023.

Erika Frantzve is a former beauty queen. She was crowned Miss Arizona USA in 2012. Moreover, she has a varied background in academics, sports, and entrepreneurship.

She played collegiate basketball at Regis University in Denver. Charlie Kirk's wife later pursued higher education and earned a Political Science and International Relations degree from Arizona State University. She also has a Juris Master's from Liberty University, and a Doctorate in Christian Leadership in 2022.

Professionally, Erika Frantzve works as a real estate agent with The Corcoran Group in New York City. She has also founded Everyday Heroes Like You. It is a nonprofit organization that focuses on community empowerment. Additionally, she runs PROCLAIM Streetwear, a faith-based clothing line, and hosts a podcast called Midweek Rise Up. She launched it in 2019.

As news of Kirk's shooting spread, multiple social media posts referenced Charlie Kirk's wife and children. One such post from an influencer read:

"From the very core of our hearts, we lift up Charlie Kirk, a devoted husband, father, and fighter. A man who stood bravely behind that podium on September 10, 2025. We cannot begin to comprehend the pain his family must be feeling in this moment, the shock, the ache, the uncertain hours ahead. Yet we stand united in prayer, trusting in the power of collective love and hope to wrap around them."

The post continued:

"May Charlie feel the strength of a million hearts behind him calling out for healing, peace, and restoration. To his children, may you return to your dad’s arms soon. To his wife, may you find courage in memories and hope in the prayers rising for him. To the ones gathered at that event, may you heal, may your fear give way to comfort, and may compassion lead the way."

POTUS Donald Trump also made an official statement:

"We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!"

As of now, details about Kirk's current condition are not officially disclosed.
