She is followed by thousands for her honest and open posts about mental health, relationships, and life. Hannah Carnat-Gronnerud often shares glimpses into her daily life, encouraging others to feel comfortable in their own skin.
She was recently in the spotlight for a different reason. Her fiancé, Ian de Metz, died in a work-related accident on July 17, 2025. The couple was planning to get married on August 31 in Calgary, Canada. They had been counting down the days to their wedding, and Hannah had posted often about how excited she was to marry Ian.

What Happened to Ian de Metz?
On July 17, Ian de Metz was killed in the workplace. Information regarding the cause of the accident has not been disclosed. His family and Hannah Carnat-Gronnerud have requested privacy during this period.
One of the close friends of the couple, Nathalie Berard (Nat), has launched a GoFundMe page to help the family of Hannah Carnat-Gronnerud and Ian. The purpose of this fundraising is to contribute to the expenses of the funeral, the trip, and the inherent time off work.
Nat wrote: “Ian was known for his warmth, kindness and generous spirit… Now, it’s our turn to carry some of the weight for Hannah and family.”
The support from friends and strangers has been strong. Many people have donated and left messages on the fundraiser page. They want Hannah to know she is not alone.
