YouTuber and streamer KurtJMac is on the verge of reaching the end of the world in Minecraft, Dexerto reports. Kurt has been traversing through the game’s terrain since 2011. He also holds a Guinness World Record for making the longest journey on the game. During a livestream on September 21, he announced that the day he would reach the end of the world in the computer game is October 4. He said:
“Me and the girlfriend sat down and figured it all out. How it would make the most sense. Give us time to appreciate the journey remaining. But the day that y’all should take off work is Saturday, October 4th. In two weeks. Unless a terrible miscalculation has taken place, we will reach the Far Lands after 14 and 1/2 years.”
According to his Fandom page, KurtJMac was born on October 12, 1981, and had been an avid lover of video games since his college days. Although he is originally from Chicago, the streamer is presently settled in Seattle. His YouTube channel, Far Lands or Bust, has over 400,000 subscribers. He announced the news of reaching the end of the world in the game on the October 1 streaming, available on YouTube, in which KurtJMac said:
“We, I, and us and you, Far landers, are going to finally reach the Far lands. As I mentioned, this has been the third Plabathon subathon. And I say they can go as long as until the timer runs out and I press F3 or we reach the Far lands. And it's been known for about a week or more that we have enough time left on the subathon timer that we are going to reach the Far lands.”
When will KurtJMac start streaming on October 4?
KurtJMac said that at first, he wanted the Far Lands to be a surprise, but presently, it was impossible to keep it a secret. He felt glad that he could let people know ahead of time. He already knew how much distance was left and how many streams he could do before Saturday, but he wasn’t exactly sure at what moment it would happen that day. Kurt mentioned:
“I'm going to start the live stream at 12:00 noon Pacific Time. It could be right there in the first segment. I don't think so, but it could be right there in the first hour or it could be like three or 4 hours. Hopefully not that long, though.”
KurtJMac said he wanted to save some time to enjoy the Far Lands when he finally reached them and wanted everyone to know that it was a big moment, even if he didn’t fully feel it yet. Recording the episode made him nostalgic, as he thought back on the 11–12 years before switching to live streaming.
He admitted he sometimes felt unsure of what he was doing, but he also knew that without the long live streams, he wouldn’t have been able to reach the Far Lands so soon. KurtJMac said if he had only made short episodes, it could have taken another 14 years, but he reminded everyone that the journey itself was the most important part.
