Guyana authorities have issued a wanted bulletin for a man they believe is connected to the attempted murder of artiste Lola Doll.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) confirmed on late Sunday, Sept. 7, that they are seeking Paul Daby Jr. in connection with the shooting of Lolita Callender, 33, who is widely known as Lola Doll.
According to the officials, his last known address is 127 D’Aguiar Park.
The shooting incident took place on Saturday, Sept. 6, just after 11 p.m. outside Lola Doll's home in Texas Square, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown. Authorities said she was inside her Mercedes-Benz when the suspect opened fire at her at point-blank range through the car window.
The social media influencer reportedly sustained "gunshot wounds to her neck, face, hands and right leg.” The officials stated:
"Preliminary information indicates that the victim was seated in her motor car when she was shot by a male on a motorcycle. Police ranks are actively pursuing the suspect, and CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as part of the investigation."
Lola Doll was admitted and currently receives critical care at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
"She is presently receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she remains in critical condition."
Following the incident, the recording artist's brother spoke to the news outlet Stabroek News. He described the panic of bringing her to the hospital, and recounted:
“I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out to see was what, only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out.”
He went on:
"We rushed her here… I can’t tell you where all she was shot but she was shot in like her face, her side, I don’t know where else… blood, so much blood everywhere. She lost a lot of blood but she is a fighter.”
As the investigations are underway, the Guyana authorities are urging the public's assistance, stating:
"The Guyana Police Force is urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward. Persons can also share information anonymously by calling 911 or the nearest police station."
